So they hired a dull coach that doesn’t believe in recruiting? I mean it’s definitely a different way to frick things up I guess.

Was $21,000,000 really worth dropping essentially a full letter grade?

Get your tape measure out and mark off the distance from Boise State to Auburn. Then mark off the distance from Auburn to UCF.

Does UCF recruit itself like Gus claimed Auburn did for 8 years?

Doesn't really matter, does it?

UCF got a big fish for their little pond. Tennessee got a little fish for their big pond.

One of the most head scratching hires I’ve seen in a long, long time.

I'm not sure how far you got in your education, but a full letter grade would be a B+. Not to mention, Gus is an A+ hire for UCF. He's been a solid C+ at Auburn the last few years

Jesus Christ, this fricking place

Frank Beamer's son is one of the most talented and likeable guys on his way up the ladder. But Shane has never even been a coordinator. There were defections galore upon his hiring. Two defenders transferred to Florida State. Leading tackler Ernest Jones declared for the draft. Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo (who was retained) and offensive line coach Will Friend (who was hired from Tennessee) left for Auburn. The top two quarterbacks departed. For a program that is losing traction in the SEC -- 6-16 in the last two seasons -- Beamer can't afford any more slippage.

Sark was a great OC for us, but Texas (the richest athletics program in the country) pulling a coordinator is hardly an A hire.

Not really disagreeing with you but who was available that’s better? They tried for Urban Meyer.

To be fair, I think I would’ve given similar grades except without so many A’s. The only hire that cycle that would’ve been an A for me was Lane Kiffin to FAU.

I also was pretty low of Applewhite- definitely a C and was high on Rhule. Rhule probably would’ve been my second highest rated hire. I liked Brohm a lot too.

Matt Campbell but he’s probably still in the B range for Texas. Urban would’ve been an A.

The scale for me is

A (I’m surprised that program pulled that good coach)
Gus

B (Solid hire for that program)
Lea
Sark
Harsin
Anderson
Butch

C (I get the hire, but it doesn’t inspire excitement)
Bert
Avalos and the rest of the G5

D (Questionable hire)
Fisch
Heupel

F (WTF hire)
Beamer

Yeah I should know better than to think someone will read my text written just below Jen's picture. Bad logistics on my part.
