I'd rather AU keep UGA and Bama can have UT. We have a deeper history with our stupid cousins.

All depends on what happens with playoffs. If it stays at 4, I see them going the 1-7 route.

If it expands, 3-6 route.

I just don’t see them going to 9 games if it’s a 4 team playoff.

That’s why Sankey is pushing so hard for it to be expanded. He gets more conference games. More teams in playoffs. So more $$$$$$$$$$$

I could see them doing the 1-7 for 4 years and see how it goes. If it works, keep it that way. If it doesn’t, then switch to the 3-6.

As others have said, too many rivalries and big games to limit the conference to just one permenant opponent. 3/6 makes sense as you will still get to play every team at least every other year. None of this stuff like currently when Georgia hasnt come to Kyle Field and we've been in the conference a decade now.

And I’d rather LSU have Florida or Ole Miss but …

Really?

For one or two seasons the top 8 fluctuates, but over time, when will these not be the top 8?

Literally right now. And this is going on 3 seasons.

I keep waiting for someone more tech savvy than myself to post his list of 3 permanent opponents for each team.

I’m pretty sure he’s not just guessing, I would guess his list is the agreed upon model for 3 permanent opponents if it happens.

LSU has played neither 126 times.

1 permanent doesn't seem realistic.

Bama: Aub or Vols?
Ark: Bevo or A&M?
Aub: Bama or UF?
UGA: Aub or UF?

Of course I'm sure the Vols would love to play UK or Vandy over Bama.

3 season ago LSU had the greatest team in college football history. Sad that you can’t count little 8 fella.

That’s pretty much set in stone.

Over the past 20 years Tennessee isn't among the 8 best if you count OU and Tx, and if you measure it from 1932, which was the year the SEC was founded, then 8&4feit would not be among the 8 best.

I think it's a good bet that Kentucky will be among the 8 best the next few years.

But then UF/UGA would no longer be annual. Which is dumb because they're objectively each team's biggest rival.

And Tennessee is listed with the Bottom 8. I know that historically they aren’t, but they would be placed with the Bottom 8 in this model (counting as Bama’s weaker permanent opponent) and Tennessee would have the best draw because they would then get two bottom 8 opponents to go with Bama.

I like 3/6.

There's nowhere to run, and nowhere to hide in the SEC. Just play 9 conference games already and move on. 3/6 is interesting and still gets you through the entire league pretty quickly. Just make a decision already and announce it.

NEXT!

This season coming up will be the third. That's what that sentence means. Sorry I spoke over your head.

It's not something fans will decide anyway. In fact, if reasonable NIL regulations and enforcement aren't forthcoming, college football as we know it won't survive long term anyway.

Yep, no more Cocktail party. That’s why it will have to be 3p 6 rotate.

Heck, why not make each team have a neutral site game for one of their permanent so there is no bitching about losing revenue on a year with only 4 SEC home games.

Ark/AM, Tex/OU and Flo/Georgia already do.

Go ahead and make that bet that LSU will finish in the bottom 7 of the league this season. Good luck.

Tennessee will get UK, its oldest rivalry, and UGA will get South Carolina; its USCs oldest SEC rivalry
