Head coach of JSU (Swac) beat Grambling for first time in years as new HC. JSU is 2-0 as their season has started now because of covid last year.

He’s got something going on. Being in such a small populated state , I hope he don’t steal potential recruits from us. I watched some film of their game and he’s got some fast arse kids on that team in all the right places, too.

Deion ain’t stealing recruits from us.

Now he absolutely might steal recruits from USM. But I even doubt that.

Take a look at his recruiting class this past almost no one from Mississippi in a COVID year with no visits. So that means they all signed before they actually saw JSU’s campus and what they were getting into. Mississippi kids aren’t gonna go to freaking Jackson State over an SEC school.

I’m pulling for Deon at JSU. Never gave 2 shits about JSU but I like Deon he seems like a cool guy.

Not in the near future, but if he gets JSU to top dog in their league and keeps them there, he’ll probably pull an in-state three star type or two each year.

I personally think Deion will be looking to the big leagues if he pulls that off.

Fred McNair and Alcorn have been the class of the SWAC for a while now, but they opted out of this spring season. We'll have to wait to see if Deion has really taken the league over.

There is plenty of instate talent that goes under recruited/unnoticed in MS for a variety of reasons.

If he can identify talent there and get those kids in line, coupled with establishing a pipeline to the JUCO talent in MS that doesn't make D1 cut, he can do well.

His brand is a major advantage early, but that will only get so far. He'll need to win and show he can get some guys in the league.

Gotta figure Alcorn opting out will hurt recruiting.

2 of Sanders sons will play at JSU as well.’one transferred from South Carolina and the other who is a QB is committed to JSU.

Gotta figure if they’re close to as talented as Deion then they’d make a big difference at a small school like that

Didn't he get a really highly rated CB from UGA in the last class? I seem to remember a signing day surprise ...

He got a juco transfer.

CB is a position of need as we lost 3 CBs and 2 nickel defenders this past offseason.

We have more talented players than the juco, but we are looking at RSFR and tFR.

He’s not staying there that long.

Last time I went to Jackson, for a second I thought I’d been transported back in time onto the set of In the Heat of Night

Lol that show was set in a small town, and was nothing like an urban ghetto.

He'll 100% take DB recruits from D1 programs, and if he has real success he'll take other positions as well.

A few players drafted and he'll be a solid transfer destination.
