Anyone who says Alabama didn't want to win the Sugar Bowl didn't watch the game.

I watched it. Bama was undisciplined and played flat. It meant nothing to them. They thought they were going to threepeat and Kick Six happened.

quote:

For some reason, people like to minimize that win against a team many thought should be playing for the NC.

Yes. Because Bama just won two national titles and they were focused on the combine. None of those players was caring about adding a lesser trophy to their collection. They couldn't have given less of a frick, and given OU's insane inferiority complex to the SEC, it obviously makes sense to.

quote:

And honestly, that wasn't a very good OU team. They didn't have a QB and were blown out by Baylor.

Exactly.

quote:

Luckily Trevor Knight played out of his mind, but a mediocre OU team beat a really good Bama team.

A mediocre OU team was playing in the biggest game of every one of those players lives. That was the least important game to those Bama players. They just wanted to stay healthy for the combine.

quote:

Someone mentioned "the greatest offense of all time" being held to 14 points against FLA. Demarco Murray didn't play that game due to injury.

All teams have injuries. A DeMarco-less OU would still have hung 50 on half the Big 12 defenses but they couldn't do it against an average SEC defense.

quote:

Understandably, OU was inside the 5 twice and couldn't punch it in without their star RB.

Might not have been a guarantee with him on the field either. I saw a DeMarco led OU at Kyle Field have first and goal two times and walk away with zero points and a 14 point loss as well. Von Miller destroyed DeMarco.

quote:

I also don't think anyone saying we got dominated by Clemson in the Orange Bowl watched the game.

I watched every second of it.

quote:

OU led 17-16 at half time.

Yeah. And the didn't score again. They were barely hanging on by a thread and you could tell when the flood gates opened, it would all unravel... and it did. If it wasn't for a fluke INT in the endzone at the end of the half, the routing would have started earlier. Clemson could have rushed for 400 yards if they wanted to and Baker was running for his life. Completely dominated in the trenches.

quote:

Unfortunately, Mixon was out and then lost Perine for most of the 2nd half. Hard to beat a really good Clemson team (that took Bama to the wire) without your two NFL backs.

Did Mixon and Perine play defense as well? There is absolutely no way and one watching that game thinks that if Perine stayed in the game, the second half would have gone any differently.

quote:

Lastly, LSU. Jason White, the perpetually injured QB with two knee braces, played most of the game pretty seriously injured. I yelled at my TV the entire time for him to get out of the game, but he refused and played a terrible game.

You've clearly made a point that once a single OU player goes out of the game with an injury, being expected to win is out of the question. So what difference would that have made?

quote:

Still only lost by 7.

Lol.

quote:

TL;DR
OU still lost and you can gloat and talk shite about it. But I think context is kind of important. OU has shite luck in big games. See: Rodney Anderson.

Every team has injuries. Deal with it. I mean maybe with Big 12 recruiting, you've lost the ability to understand what depth on your roster is. If your team collapses because one player goes down, you probably didn't deserve to be there in the first place.

Wow. You have a really weird fixation with OU. I guess that should be expected from an Aggie, but I'm super impressed at your commitment.

It's really convenient that you've got a built in excuse for Alabama being dominated by a mediocre OU team. It doesn't hold up to scrutiny when you actually watch the game without your anti-OU glasses, but whatever. Truth is, we beat a one-loss, NC contender Bama team. Sorry, bro.

quote:

Might not have been a guarantee with him on the field either. I saw a DeMarco led OU at Kyle Field have first and goal two times and walk away with zero points and a 14 point loss as well. Von Miller destroyed DeMarco.

I'll give you that Kevin Wilson had some pretty spotty play-calling on the goal line while at OU. Considering how close we got (an inch) and our ability to move the ball, I don't think it's a stretch that an NFL running back could have gotten us in. But hey, you got to relive a moment where your team actually beat OU. Aww. I mean, OU still won the conference and ATM still had a shite season, but I bet that meant a lot to you.

quote:

All teams have injuries. A DeMarco-less OU would still have hung 50 on half the Big 12 defenses but they couldn't do it against an average SEC defense.

And that mediocre SEC defense won the SEC and was playing for a NC. They were literally the best SEC team.

quote:

Did Mixon and Perine play defense as well? There is absolutely no way and one watching that game thinks that if Perine stayed in the game, the second half would have gone any differently.

The Clemson game would have turned into a shootout. The defense shite the bed because Mike Stoops sucks at making adjustments. But with Mixon and Perine, OU would have had a lot more offensive success. This is obvious stuff. Not saying we would have won, but with a complete team it would have been close.

quote:

You've clearly made a point that once a single OU player goes out of the game with an injury, being expected to win is out of the question. So what difference would that have made?

If the player who goes out is a Heisman trophy winner or good enough to start on an NFL team as a rookie, yes that's a pretty big deal against good competition. I know you have no experience watching your team in a big game that actually matters, but good players make a difference. Ask Auburn or 2009 Texas. Or just look at what ATM looks like without Manziel. Lol.

It's funny, you say OU is obsessed with the SEC, but it seems like you've got a bit of a crush yourself, buddy. I'm sure you'll watch the OU - Georgia game with your jizz jar ready.

No, you already know.

Shouldn't you be concerned about Missouri or have you already conceded defeat?

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Bama came out to show Bob Stoops who was boss, and they failed. Period.

What a sad little dipshit. This is so aggie. Repeating Saban talking points and excuses in hopes of gaining favor with Bama's fanbase so they'll heap some sort of praise or validation on you. LMAO!!!

I hope Oklahoma wins tbh.

That way Clemson can’t beat the shite out of Mayfield again. Their DLine will T off on that fgt.

If Alabama wins the Sugar Bowl they’ll destroy Mayfield as well.

OU talks shite about the SEC when they beat Tennessee...

What lowly expectations they must have of themselves.

Does Alabama talk shite about the Big 12 after beating Texas Tech....

We talk shite because we've beaten more than just Tennessee. The SEC and it's fans have talked shite about every other league for the last 10 years (and so has your media). And you still do, even as the losses pile up. It's not like you don't have it coming as other leagues catch up and your league regresses.

And I've never seen Bama play Tech.

Have not read a single post in this thread. Oklahoma Sooners have more national championships, conference championships, playoff appearances, bcs bowl wins, rose bowl wins, Heisman trophy winners, all americans, top 5 finishes, years with 10+ wins, top 25 finishes, weeks ranked in the top 5, weeks ranked #1.... than everyone..... boomer. Win or Lose, we're still better than you

AND this right here is why I never understand why the SEC bias bothers you!

But your whole program whines and complains about it more than anyone else. You are a blue blood of college football yet your #littlemansyndrome makes you talk smack about the SEC when you win games you are suppose to win. With all of your accolades you should act like you should win (kinda like Bama, tOSU, USC, Texas, etc do) You are the only blue blood that allows the SEC bias in your head so much. I'll never get it.

OU is really unlucky when it comes to recruiting Star RB that can’t stop abusing women.

Right here you just admitted that the SEC is the best conference, although you didn't intend too...

So the fact Alabama had two separate touchdown leads against Oklahoma shows they didn’t care? Saban sure coached like he cared.

Stop making excuses for others. I understand you live vicariously through others successes. That’s the only way you can survive this forum.

Lol Ags live vicariously through others success, in reference to a football fan board?

Didn’t realize you played, but now that the cats out of the bag it should have been obvious. Glad to have you with us baker.
