Still building on the foundation laid by Richt.

And Kelly is building on the foundation laid by Miles and Ed O. right? I mean, unless he wins two (and he's never won even one) is he really that much better than them? Can you honestly say he will have taken the program to new heights. Les and Ed beat Bama as well.

In this year's draft, Bama had the #1 overall pick. That trumps UGA in this draft.

Saban is doing less with more these days.

Losing lots of players does not equal sustained success. Not to say in 1-2 years you won’t be on top but get ready for some 8-9 wins seasons especially once you arent just playing the putrid East and Aubbie every year.

I understand what you are trying to say, but the reality is this really doesn't apply for the upcoming years for UGA.

UGA's season where they lost a ton was actually this past season.

Despite having 10 guys drafted this year, UGA is in REALLY good shape in terms of depth chart.

Let's go over the players UGA had drafted/lost.

OFFENSE:
RB - Kenny McIntosh (7th). Kenny Mcintosh had 150 carries, but Daijuan Edwards had 140 (with the same YPC). Kendall Milton had 85 carries with 7 YPC. UGA is good at RB.

QB - Stetson Bennett (4th). While Bennett is a heady player who led the team to two national championships, everyone realizes he's not as gifted as the other UGA QB's. Carson Beck put up almost the same sort of stats in relief last year. While it could impact UGA, it's not going to be from lack of talent at the position.

TE - Darnell Washington (3rd). UGA has Brock Bowers returning and a slew of other talented TE's in waiting. No issue at all.

OL - Broderick Jones (1st)/Warren McClendon (5th)/Warren Ericson (UD) - Probably the biggest concern for UGA. 2 of the spots should be fine, with both Mims and Truss having plenty of playing time. Earnest Greene at the other tackle spot is the question mark. He looked very good before getting hurt before the season last year, but is the only inexperienced guy stepping in for UGA.

WR - AD Mitchell (transfer) / Kearis Jackson (UD) - To be honest, UGA probably gets a step up with Ra Ra Thomas and Dominic Lovett transferring in.

I don't see UGA getting any worse offensively looking at this.

DEFENSE:

OLB - Nolan Smith (1st)/Robert Beal (5th) - While UGA had relatively few 4 LB sets, both of these guys would play when they did before Smith got hurt. Chaz Chambliss stepped up nicely when Smith went out, but is definitely a step down. Jalon Walker played a lot as well and is a potential high draft pick. Marvin Jones Jr. is also pushing for time. While Smith is a tough to replace loss, UGA already showed they were pretty good without him the second half of the season while he was injured and I think THAT level of play is easily reachable for this OLB group.

DT - Jalen Carter (1st) / Bear Alexander (transfer) - UGA returns all of their 2 deep except Carter (Bear was on the 3-deep). While Carter is a next level talent, these guys are both experienced and talented and will be a strength for UGA.

CB - Kelee Ringo (4th) - Great player, but Daylen Everett (5-star) looked very good as a freshman last year and is likely to step in with little issue. Nyland Green is also talented and capable.

S - Chris Smith (5th) - Javon Bullard is moving over to his spot from the Star and Tyke Smith (former all-american) is starting at the Star spot. Dan Jackson is back from injury to provide depth and Jacorey Thomas is also talented and experienced relief at Safety.

UGA is in GREAT shape going into next season. They had a lot of guys drafted, but they're spread out amongst many positions and UGA's recruiting and tendency to rotate a ton of guys to play has given them the depth to look BETTER for next season, not depleted like you might think.

The concern for a drop off was more for after last season and perhaps for next season. This season UGA is primed for a great year.

I thought it was such a ridiculous statement it had to be sarcasm. Perhaps if you didn't recognize the sarcasm, deep down you're the one who believes Kirby's only winning because of the foundation laid by Richt.

Even if we take a step back…. Have you seen our schedule and the way Kirby recruits?

You mean the putrid east that beat the west head to head? The putrid east that has won back to back National Championships? The putrid east in which the second best team in the east beat the #1 and #2 teams from the west?

THAT putrid east?

It's almost like you have slept through the last several years of SEC Football.

I think the key is back to back years. Which team had more drafted last year?

The last two years is living in the past? Then Alabama is definitely living in the far past.

FWIW, I spotted it as sarcasm. It's just that people have trolled us for so long some of our fans have a knee jerk reaction to any statement.

LSU fans make ridiculous statements all the time, usually we take them as idiocracy.

I guess it was a judgement call

I'm pretty sure that's not exclusive to LSU fans on this site, there are just more of us. In fact, a little success lately has placed UGA fans near the top of the list for ridiculous statements.

Kirby sustain success by the way he rotates his players during the game. Underclassmen gets tons of reps. It benefits most players and the system. Selfish players like Bear Alexander and a few others leave because of this thinking the grass is greener on the other side.

Probably keeps as many from transreffering as it does drive some to transfer.

Seriously, if you have NFL aspirations a place like UGA is the place to be...you get enough attention playing fewer snaps because the team is winning and your body is not taking the beating it would at schools with less depth. I understand wanting to play every snap but it isn't neccessarily the smart thing to do...

It’s impressive to be doing that during the saban era.
