Right, similarity in scheme has nothing to do with it.

You know, now that I think about it, you're right. I fully encourage Nick to spend all his time watching tape of an OU team from 3 years ago.

He and I were referring to the fact that ALABAMA'S offense is better than the ALABAMA offense that y'all played against last time. The Avg points per game numbers drastically point that out...go look.

Homey......you are talking to somebody who has seen spread offenses in action every week for well over a decade. I understand the reaction that Bama fans and their media cronies are having in regards to your new offense.
We're saying that Alabama's offense THIS YEAR is better than the offense y'all played against last time!...THAT'S ALL WE'RE SAYING!...we don't give a frick what you're/Oklahoma are used to seeing...MAN, think about what you're reading!!

I understand what you're trying to tell me. I'm telling YOU that it's not the case. And no, you don't have
"4 NFL Wide Receivers!"

So you're saying that our offense this year isn't better than the one y'all played against last time?

Go look at your season results against "da best defenzus in da country" now that you're a spread offense. Let me know what you find.

We had shutouts. How many shutouts did you have this year?

It's hilarious you guys are honestly arguing that your defense is on the same level as SEC defenses.

I mean the stats are right there in your face, and you continue to ignore them.

Oh ya. Big stop there. Tech only managed 46, and you barely beat them as well. I mean Ok St. scored 47, and you only beat them by a point. Your defense is a fricking joke.

I can't prove this with any numbers, but here's what OU deals with...

A number of highly talented passing teams in the Big 12 that come in scared to death, realizing they have to put up points, and a sh*tload of them, to hang with OU's offense.

This exaggerates OU's defensive stats. Were OU to play more traditional offenses, their defensive stats wouldn't look so bad.

run of the mill Big 12 offense

Wow, that's something. Well, I guess we'll only score 45 then, since we are a typical Big XII offense along the lines of Oklahoma State or Kansas.

Correct. Your league is full of turd offenses not named Alabama or Georgia. Ours is not.

Ya, that's been the theme with this entire thread.

No, the fact your defense sucks exaggerates your defensive states. I mean I get it, that's the way you guys play football. All offense with defense an afterthought.

The problem is you're about to run in to a team with the same caliber offense that you see in the Big 12...and with a top tier defense.

Bama's D will stop you, maybe not all the time, but enough of the time.

Your D will not stop Bama at all. As shown by your inability to stop any other offense in your conference.

Actually your league has quite a few turd offenses

S&P+ Offense Ranks
57. Baylor (33 pts vs OU)
77. Iowa State (27 pts vs OU) (pre-Purdy)
97. Kansas State (14 pts vs OU)
99. TCU (27 pts vs OU)
116. Kansas (40 pts vs OU)

The best offenses you've played this year
6. West Virginia (56 pts vs OU)
10. Oklahoma State (47 pts vs OU)
25. Texas Tech (46 pts vs OU)
28. Texas (48, 27 pts vs OU)

Half your league's offenses are 50th or worse in S&P+ offense. 1/3 of them are 97th or worse.

Alabama is #2, BTW, and will be the best offense you've played all year. You gave up an average of 50 PPG against the 3 Top 25 offenses you played this year, 52 PPG vs the 2 Top 10 offenses you played.

But please, continue.

Alabama actually played better offenses in the SEC this year than Oklahoma did in the Big XII

Alabama Top 25 Offenses Played
#3 Georgia (5.75 YPP, 28 pts)
#12 Ole Miss (4.20 YPP, 7 pts)
#15 Missouri (3.48 YPP, 10 pts)
#19 Texas A&M (5.46 YPP, 23 pts)

Oklahoma Top 25 Offenses Played
#6 West Virginia (7.82 YPP, 56 pts)
#10 Oklahoma State (7.44 YPP, 47 pts)
#25 Texas Tech (6.66 YPP, 46 pts)

My god. Ohio state could beat any of these teams but they aren’t whining about it because they knew they lost.

Georgia. You lost. Twice. Give it a rest

Alabama is a better offense than anything OU has faced, simply because they are multi-faceted. They can spread you out, or they can simply line up old school and pound it down your throat.

OU is a finesse team, and their lack of physicality is going to be biggest problem in this game. Bama is both fast, and significantly larger. Especially on the lines.
