People forget that Ohio State had a Coaching change, that is why Martrell was waivered

And now he's 3rd on the depth chart at Miami instead of being #2 at OSU.

Im enjoying the bashing of Brenton Cox by most dawgs. Some of the intelligent of the bunch know he is potentially a helluva player and the dude is chiseled, not an ounce of fat.

It will be pure gold if he
gets that waiver. BTW, you didn't see Gators posting about Cox until now..we stayed classy, something most leghumpers haven't been. Imagine if we had a 5 * transfer to jawja instead? Most of you would be blasting us with 100 pages of shite.

Good luck with Cox, to be completely fair, he was uncoachable and had a terrible attitude/adversarial with team mates.

Maybe he sees Martrels situation and will clean up his act but I doubt it.

He cost us the Bama game more than the damn fake punt, so I am glad to see him go.

Mullen wouldn't have taken him as a transfer if he didn't fit the scheme...so not sure what you mean there.

His body is an even front defensive end. That fits your nickel package.
He's a big boy. Physical specimen for his size. But he's not your explosive pass rusher (doesn't have the first step, doesn't have the elite quickness, and doesn't have the bend needed to beat SEC tackles around the edge). His size is a great combination of power and speed.

However, the power isnt there in run defense. He's got the body for run defense without the ability (or possibly the effort).

He's not a standup linebacker. And he's not a threat as an edge pass rusher against the SEC. So what is he? He's a project. He may rack up stats against the sisters of the poor (a specialty of grantham who leaves his starters in for 4 quarters). But he's not ready to make a mark in this league. Maybe 2020. Probably 2021 if he can learn his role as a teammate.

Yeah you're right, he is probably worthless and I don't why we bothered Again, if the shoe was on the other foot and you got a 5 star player from UF to transfer to Athens, what would you be saying about him then???

Lick your wounds and move on.

We don't need him to start this year. Our starting group is very, very good. One of the best in the SEC in terms of Dline/edge. He wouldn't be replacing Greenard nor Zuniga as a starter. I'd suspect he likely goes as Greenard's back up if he is able to play immediately.

You don’t have any 5stars to transfer...

Also lol at claiming moral superiority when you came to the thread whining and wanting to start an argument because we’re not melting over losing Cox.

UF would first need a 5* player on the roster in order for this to happen.

I strongly believe that Cox should have to go to a different conference if he’s wanting immediate eligibility. I’d have a problem with a 5* linebacker from Bama transferring to a SEC program and not having to sit out a season. If said 5* player goes to the ACC or Big Ten I don’t care. The ncaa is going to set a precedent with their decision here.

IMO, he should sit out a year. He obviously had some issues at Georgia and needs a year to settle down in his new school. I know this isn't the typical Gator response on this matter but I am not a fan of player transfers for any reason other than true hardship cases and anyone who does transfer should take a year to adjust and work out their issues.

That is a great scenario for you.

I penciled him as our starter in June before Ojulari's offseason was known (10 pounds) and Johnson had the playbook.

He absolutely has talent. And is an absolute specimen. Hes better as a freshman than Ray Drew was (ray was more of a standup linebacker his first season but got moved to the Cox type role as he gained weight).

If you can work him hard to get ready for late 2019 or 2020, then you may have something special. But that takes attitude and effort. If you can convince him for a 4th year, then he may be an all conference calibre player assuming he doesn't bulk up too much and change positions.

I hope he is eligible so Andrew Thomas and Isiah Wilson can treat him like a rag doll.

Agreed with attitude and effort. Maybe he just didn't click with the new staff as well as expected? I mean the kid is a freak, but if he doesn't want to give it his all he isn't going to see the field much.

I’d say your crazy because he’s the only 5 star on your roster, and UGA let him walk.

I would wonder what the heck was wrong with the kid to do something as drastic as a sudden transfer to a major rival.

Well, crap. Football players definitely should not have to put up with being hit on the helmet.

Absolutely could be this. Who knows? He might go to Florida and work his rear end off and become a great player. Just because there is a problem at one school does nto mean there will be problems at another school.
