I’m so tired of these coaches from objectively, clearly, inferior conferences throwing shade at us when they have no leg to stand on. I like Lanning, a lot, he was an amazing coach for us but the big 10 is in pretty solid spot for 3rd best conference this year. When your conference as a whole is behind the big 12 and you missed the best teams in it during the regular season outside of Indiana you should probably shut up and coach

Correct, Chattanooga State is a community college, however UTC is still UTC. It used to be University of Chattanooga.

Oregon as well as OSU and INDIANA and ND ( since we are on this topic) played very weak schedules. They all essentially scheduled their way into the CFP.
Lanning has no cred. What kind of idiot is he? Is he the delusional idiot? Is he the low IQ idiot?. Is he the lying idiot? Or is he all three rolled into a completely unaware blob of BS?

Coaches say this shite to try and draw attention to their team and conference and it works.

My bad. They stopped commonly referring to their sports teams as UTC over the last decade or so, and now call themselves the "Chattanooga Mocs" instead of the UTC Moccasins, so I had assumed they made an "official" name change.

They’ve played 2.5 decent teams the entire season. The rest of that league is roughly as good as Kentucky

Strategically there are two trains of thought.
1. Play it at the beginning of the season to get better in game practice before the tougher games
2. Play it at the end in case you drop a tougher game. Early losses are always better than late losses. Use the easy games more like a by week if needed to rest and fine tune some things.

Lanning is just being in character. And he was just throwing some nobody school name out there. He didn't care about the details. He just wanted to emphasize it was a nobody school some SEC teams were playing Saturday. He is always like this. Nothing new.

Everyone still calls them UTC in town, even my friends that are employees, so don’t know. Maybe it’s a sports branding thing they are doing, but the education part still uses UTC a lot.
