3 opt outs...you trying to defend your initially retarded position of "half their starters sitting" makes you look even more retarded.

They had two starters on D opt out. And, one on offense. There were some injured guys held out. But, nowhere close to the amount we held out.

would Biff Poggi know how many starters were out?

quote:

"There are opt-outs and there are opt-outs, right?" Poggi said. "There are different kinds of opt-outs. We have three that were starters, two on defense, one on offense, who declared they were opting out. Now we have some others that this week have decided not to play based on injuries. Our number is probably more like 12 to 15 in actuality."

The responses in this thread are how you can tell non-playoff bowl games are meaningless. People trying to dissect who had the most opt outs or the most marquis players who sat out, etc., just goes to show what these games have evolved into as far as the current climate of college football.

They can seen as rewards or vacations for the team and fans or whatever but no one can really be serious about these games anymore.

If Arch was playing close to how he's been playing of late, they'd be the top team in the playoffs from the SEC most likely. Right now for sure, they'd be the top team if the season started today.
