Dabo Swinney's only 6-5 vs. Gamecocks (hmmm)...3 reasons why they won't repeat as champs

and Dabo's only 5-4 vs. Jimbo Fisher (more hmmmm).
*Key departures of production players (9 on the defense)
*No room for error (one of the easiest schedules in nation...can't afford one slip-up and must win every game in convincing fashion)
*Statistical history is against them

Either SC or TAMU will beat them.

I don't know what light came on for Dabo and Clemson in the last 5 years, but it has. Prior to that he and Clemson were just one of the ACC teams looking up at FSU. They were good but not great.

The Dabo teams that lost to those teams/coaches don't really resemble Clemson in 2019... This is an odd read on the current state.
There is a reason for the disclaimer statement in the financial world: "Past performance is not indicative of future results..."
Not to mention how many of those losses to the Gamecocks came at the hands of one Stephen Orr Spurrier. Nor does Jimbo's roster in 2019 particularly resemble the early to mid 2010 FSU rosters.

This is retarded. They have bama level talent and a cakewalk to the playoffs. Not to mention a possibly otherworldly quarterback.
They may not repeat but they are the prohibitive favorites.

To be fair, they won it last year and failed to beat A&M in convincing fashion, so I doubt it will matter, as long as they are unbeaten.

That Quarterback is going to make it really tough for anyone to beat them. Dude's a once in a lifetime thrower and a natural. Dabo is building a dynasty over there and he's doing it in a really terrible conference.
Even if they do stumble, the chances of them dropping another game in their conference is really low. Maybe if Lawrence goes down, but usually:
Elite QB w/ Tough Defense = Championship.

Because gumpville can't beat them....amirite?

Clemson has done enough these last few years to get in with 1 loss if there aren’t 4 undefeated teams.

How many title teams blow out every opponent in the season

So the first five years while Dabo was building the program he didn't beat the best teams and USC had its historically greatest five year stretch. The last five years Dabo has taken names and beaten the Saban dynasty twice in the biggest game.
There are lies, damned lies and statistics.

I never said they did. I was pointing out the error of the OP. He said that Clemson would need to beat all opponents in convincing fashion. That didn't happen last year and it made no difference in terms of the CFP.
I doubt it will make a difference this year. If Clemson beats A&M (or any other D1 team) by 1 point in OT, I doubt it will make a difference to the committee. If Clemson is undefeated, Clemson is in.

Why are UGA fans so obsessed with Clemson’s record against Jimbo Fisher and SCar? Pretty weird.

With their schedule, a close game should be looked at as a loss.
