His temper tantrum he threw after the perfectly called and beautifully executed onside kick was embarrassing to watch. Seemed like every time something didn't go his team's way, he was calling for holding.

And then this shite:

quote:

Brett McMurphy ? @McMurphyESPN

In hallway on way to locker room, Dabo Swinney screamed repeatedly at officials “you made us use a time out” on late first half scenario

Bad officiating is a universal constant in this sport and everyone has to work around it. Deal with it.

I feel for the Clemson players who put on one hell of a show and have everything to be proud of, but their coach is a jagaloon.

I think he had a good reason to be mad about using the timeout.

I personally think if Clemson gets that onside kick, we lose the game.

He acts like he is a player on the team who somehow just got promoted to head coach. He has great energy and I can see why players like him, but like you said - sometimes that energy is exhibited in childish ways.

As far as the onside kick, Dabo said his team was flagged and made to kick again on a similar play earlier in the year although I don't know the reference for it.

Not stopping the clock on the first down during the closing seconds was atrocious, both by the refs and clock operations people. Saban would have pulled a gun had it been Alabama.

The onside kick you are referring to happened in the South Carolina game last year. They kicked it, it never hit the ground and we had a player in the area that called for a fair catch. Clemson didn't allow him fair chance at the ball so they were flagged.

He comes across as a little cheesy to me. But that's probably because I'm so used to Saban with his dry sense of humor and jackass ways.

I told my wife the same thing after Clemson scored their last TD. I said "if Clemson recovers, I think they might score." Given the way they were moving down the field and the fact their receivers were destroying the Bama secondary, they could've easily gotten to the 35 or 40, gotten out of bounds and clocked the ball, and drawn up a TD pass.

Unlikely, but definitely not out of the realm of possibility given how they moved the ball on Bama's defense.

So, how should Dabo have handled the end of the first half? Just let Watson spike it and then they fix the clock? I think he did everything he could there given the screwjob he was getting

He is a fiery guy, who thinks his team did everything they had to to win last night, and they did. Ball didn't bounce his way literally and figuratively

Which is a very significant difference.

Exactly, had they called for a fair catch, it could've been a different outcome. They didn't call for a fair catch, so that is why the play was confirmed as called.

So how can he complain about it when there wasn't even a Clemson player around? That onside kick was perfectly executed.

Dabo did everything he could. He was pissed because the clock operator and refs cost him a play and he was right. I don't blame him for being pissed about it.
