Possessing a gun isnt a crime. The location and the legality of the firearm itself can be. Too many times reporters love to throw "found with firearms" and its completely legal..

* I know nothing of this kids case though, but just saying in general

Probably the existence of a seriously injured victim.

I think when you’re the sole cause of someone likely being in a wheelchair for the rest of their life you should certainly be kicked off the team.

One look through this thread and the overwhelming opinion is that he deserves to face far more serious punishments. It’s just the ones who have weird hard ons for Georgia that say otherwise.

Yeah that mail carrier now has debilitating injuries for life and likely will lose substantial quality of life because some entitled prick thinks its okay to drive 100+mph.

Many here have already said its okay, just a k8d being a kid.

Reminds me of the dipshit that killed the Auburn couple a few years back.

Just horrible.

The flaws of the criminal code in SC are pretty much irrelevant.

Yes I’m serious. Weed is a crime in SC whether you agree with it or not. Possession of weed and reckless driving both come with a max penalty of 30 days in jail and a $200 fine. Take it up with the DA’s office if you think Davis needs to be thrown under the jail.

You know the coaches have discretion in these matters, right.

And one actually involved harming and nearly killing another human due to reckless actions.

That’s why we’re comparing them. Letter of law is one thing but this is different from criminal proceedings.

What’s funnier is that you’re comparing the two, saying theyre identical, yet one is off the team and the other is suiting up Saturday night.

Are you familiar with the purpose of Jesus dying on the Cross?

I think people miss the message of Christianity when they call Christians that forgive and give second chances fake. That's actually what Christians are commanded to do.

Tell that to the mail carrier.

What part of forgiveness involves zero real repercussions for major mistakes with real victims?

The poster your reply to was a little much, but this is disingenuous as well. He did a little more than just "driving too fast".

Exactly. Driving too fast is excusable…..as long as you aren’t wrecking into other vehicles and maiming innocent people.

The Christian part.

You and I and everyone else are deserving of death as a repercussion for our sins, to perish into an eternal lake of fire and to be apart from the Lord forevermore. That is the proper punishment we deserve.

What people perhaps fail to grasp about Christianity is that one's sin is against God, and all who have sinned have fallen short of the glory of God. There aren't big sins and little sins. There is only sin.

Moses killed a man in anger. David coveted another man's wife. The Apostle Paul marched Christians off the be persecuted and executed as Saul of Tarsas.

And yet all these men, whose actions involved 'real victims', were used by the Lord to deliver His message.

You may say that Dabo's decision doesn't seem right by man's law and you'd get little disagreement from me (though I still ascribe to the concept that a man should have his day in court before being condemned).

But to say Dabo's spirit of forgiveness makes him a 'fake Christian' is utterly absurd. Forgiveness is the entire message of the New Testament. What Jesus did on the cross was take away the real repercussions of our real actions with real victims.

Let’s see the verses, but they probably don’t exist because this is simply your flawed misunderstanding of the religion.

Forgiveness and repercussions aren’t mutually exclusive ideas. One can be punished and forgiven for the same crime.

But all is this helps explain your affinity for richt. Glad we got that cleared up.
