It's pretty straightforward. National Title winning coach gets promoted to a job he cannot do, and torpedoes the athletic department for 12 years.
I do think SC will be legit good this year under Schnall.

I’m all in on the Mizzou hate, but it feels like they left them off 50-100 just to say they were fair. Has Mizzou really fallen to the point their program is worse off than Penn, Creighton, Lamar or Mercer?
Why yes. Yes it has.

In my opinion, baseball is THE most competitive sport in the SEC.

It’s refreshing to see a list where Oklahoma is Top Ten in something and a National Championship is part of it!!!

Mizzou baseball stadium is a huge disincentive for recruits because it's in a windy area. They don't give much funding to it. And it doesn't get much press coverage. All baseball attention in the state goes to Royals and Cardinals. The baseball has a high turnover in both recruits and coaches.
I was never tempted to go to a Mizzou baseball game. The only game I ever attended in baseball was at Texas A&M and it was because Jeff Granger was pitching and he set the A&M record for strikeouts in a game. Everywhere in the ballpark seemed like great seats and it was a good location.

Baseball is such a wildcard for the most part.
In football if you have a great QB, you can go far with some other pieces. If no QB you are so screwed.
In basketball you only have 5 players on court and maybe 10 total playing a game. Talent makes such a huge difference and wins out.
In baseball yes you can have talent but its spread out more. One ace pitcher can't do what one ace qb does. You need several pitchers over the year, and they will all have some bad stretches. And same goes for hitting you need more than one hitter.
OU finished 14-16 in SEC play and still won the National Title. In no other main sport can you do that. Baseball is the kind of sport where all teams have a chance. And thats what makes it so compelling. Basketball has some early playoff cinderella stories but not one of those teams wins the title with a losing conf record.
Any team has a chance. And SEC has the biggest compilation of talent. Its like a season long playoff to prepare you for playoffs.
No one including me saw OU winning it all. Hell, we closed SEC season play going 4-8 and then got bounced in SEC tourney game 1 by LSU. So 4-9 to close out SEC. And went on road for playoffs. Crazy how it all came together. And thats what makes baseball so fun.

Yeah ok Derrick, go frick yourself.
Also, I know you are new to winning but they are usually referred to as titles.

For those that have watched your team win a CWS National Championship, where were you if you weren't in Omaha and what makes that very memorable to you?
For me it was the LSU vs Tx CWS and one I will never forget!

Many big ten schools would love to drop baseball if they could because it’s an anchor on AD’s.
Why can’t they? Just drop some of those ridiculous women’s “sports”…

In what world is Tennessee #4? Their success is around one coach who's no longer there.

It is. Baseball is popular in the South and also West Coast so nearly every SEC school is elite

I obviously hate women since I think women sports are a drain on resources, that always seems to be the go to
