There were three coaches after Polk before Lemonis

I don’t know how bad the roster was when Stricklin got to Georgia, but it took him 5 years just to get above .500. That seems way too long with the resources the Georgia job offers.

It took John Cohen a long time to get our program back up and running too.

You gotta give a bigger window. Sully accomplished more from 2015-2018 (not that long ago) than DVH, Lemonis, & Vitello did combined.

Yep. We were BAD when Cohen first got here. He righted the ship big time.

Agreed, but I also think all of those coaches would have the same amount of success coaching at Florida.

Cohen was in a regional by year 3.

Realistically Butch is too low. Auburn was really bad this year but that doesn't erase the previous 3 seasons. He's for sure above Bohannon, Stricklin, and Kingston in my opinion.

Getting into a regional isn’t necessarily defining success by what he’s talking about. Hosting them is.

That's probably fair. There is definitely some recency effect in my rankings.

Well sure. But that was never my point. I was talking about how Stricklin took 5 seasons to finish above .500 at Georgia.

Yeah, that’s definitely a good point. It’s not the same situation though because I’m not sure UGA really invests in baseball like State.

I meant like if they were at Florida in a hypothetical scenario.

They don't, but with the resources and talent available nobody should take 5 years to get to .500 overall (not in the SEC, overall) at a place like Georgia.

Stricklin seems to have found his footing since then, though.

Most of their own fans were hating him before their Super regional and I’m sure will once he goes 0-2 in Omaha.

What the frick are you talking about?

Also Vitello ahead of Sully is pretty laughable. You may can make that argument in 5 years but not today. Sully has one natty, a 2nd place finish, and 2 other top 4 finishes on top of another Omaha trip. Like Bianco, he got real unlucky that last season was canceled by the pandemic or they both may have another Omaha trip on their resume. Sully is probably #1 or #2.

Two college World Series and that’s it. Counting this year. He didn’t even recruit States best player.

Yeah… opening his career with 2 trips to the CWS is a real knock on the guy…

He’s been here for 2 years, we’ve ended in Omaha both of those years. State has three 20 win SEC seasons, ever, and two of them are his.

2) Chris Lemonis Mississippi State
3) Dave Van Horn Arkansas
4) Schlossnagle Texas A&M
5) Tony Villeto Tennessee
6) Kevin O'Sullivan Florida

Has a national title within the last 4 years and more visits to Omaha than the ones you listed ahead of him.

Where's your logic here?
