They get shooters open from teams having to double the 7 footer. AU has plenty of length to negate their shooters but not if they are having to scramble due to problems with the 7 footer. Not sure you understand your team’s strengths and weaknesses. If AU loses, it will be due to the 7 footer. If Broome can get him in foul trouble, AU will win

I truly don’t feel good about it the way we’ve been playing. If we played any type of decent team yesterday we would have lost. They have lost something the last month. Hopefully they can find it but would not surprise me at all if Creighton wins.

I look at this game as a toss up. Auburn +9 is very generous for Auburn, given their minimal effort and sloppy play the last month.

Think he’s actually 7’-2” or something like that and his wingspan is significant. So your inches are pretty far off, but Broome is definitely quicker and Cardwell is definitely stronger. Could go either way

It will likely come down to an elbow.

Bammer, you should be more worried about playing St Mary’s; basically your Creighton.

Auburn has underperformed in 4 or 5 straight games. Creighton looked damn good beating the Ville. When I saw the +9, I immediately thought about taking Creighton. Then, I realized it was a trap. Would not be surprised if Auburn won by 20.
Taking the points looks WAAAAYYYY too easy. I'm not betting this one.

Creighton is a good team.
The big K- I can’t spell, is good.
Shooters around him.
They took a guard from us a few years ago- Alexander? That we really needed.
We will need to play better to win this one.

What does Bama/St. Mary’s on Sunday have to do with the AU/Creighton game today? Weird.
I’ve already posted that St. Mary’s is a terrible matchup for us and that we probably aren’t making a deep run this year. Our front court is soft and we’re both injured and out of sync, not a good combination for a deep run. St. Mary’s is a poor man’s FL, and they are going to destroy us on the boards.

If Auburn doesn’t come out with some fire in their belly and play like they did Thursday, this could be a good take.

We need to fire up the jet and get these guys in the air. Let them fight a little, find the mojo again.
We just are going thru the motions the since locking up the SEC. I haven't seen evidence that we'll turn it around yet.

Creighton is a good team and AU has been on cruise control for weeks. Can AU turn it on today?

He is listed as 7'-1" so his numbers are off by exactly how much your number is off. Broome is listed as 3" shorter and Cardwell 2" shorter. If we can't handle him, it won't be due to size differences.

Couldn’t find Cardwell’s wingspan but Broome’s is 7’-0” compared to Kalkbrenner’s 7’-5” wingspan. 5 inches diff in wingspan is a huge size advantage and Broome isn’t exactly a jumper. It will come down to size vs quickness in Broome vs Kalkbrenner matchups. It will come down to length vs. strength in Cardwell vs. Kalkbrenner matchups. Whoever can get the other team in foul trouble will have a huge advantage in this one.

Lot of talk about foul trouble.
Kalkbrenner has played 168 college games, averaged more than 29 MPG for the past 4 years and has never once fouled out of a game. Hasn't averaged 2 fouls per game in any season and is the 4 time Big East Defensive POY so it's not like he isn't in the mix to get that recognition.
Maybe today is the day he does get in foul trouble, but it's been a very deliberate thing Creighton has done coaching to keep him on the court.

Those are great points, but I doubt he’s gone up against a top 2 player of the year post player very often that is quicker than he is. His length gives him a huge advantage and he probably won’t even jump a lot to avoid fouls if he ends up guarding Broome when Cardwell is on the bench, but if Broome is able to score on him he might start getting more aggressive. Cardwell isn’t really a factor on offense other than the boards. Kalkbrenner also has so much length that he can affect guards getting down hill without having to jump, making it more difficult for a guard to draw a foul on him. Should be an interesting matchup.

Creighton +9 is easy money. Not 2 months ago but tomorrow it is.

Foo, you obviously didn't see Steven Pearl's comments on the game yesterday. A fire is about to be lit under Broome and CBM. I expect both of them to reach down, grab their sack, and prove to their coach that they are the player he thinks they are.
