re: Creighton +9 vs auburn?

Lot of talk about foul trouble.

Kalkbrenner has played 168 college games, averaged more than 29 MPG for the past 4 years and has never once fouled out of a game. Hasn't averaged 2 fouls per game in any season and is the 4 time Big East Defensive POY so it's not like he isn't in the mix to get that recognition.

Maybe today is the day he does get in foul trouble, but it's been a very deliberate thing Creighton has done coaching to keep him on the court.
A few newer things since LSU has been in town.

They completely redid the parks downtown. They aren't finished with all of it, but a portion called Gene Lehey Mall is open and it is very nice. Slides, swings, playgrounds, lots of things for kids to do for free. Usually, some food vendors are around.

New science museum just opened a couple of months ago on the Riverfront if that's your sort of thing on a day off. Haven't been, but heard good things.

The area north of the stadium isn't as desolate. The Millwork building has a brewery, a good coffee shop, and ice cream shop.

Blackstone is a newer popular bar hopping area a bit west of downtown. I'd just recommend going out in the Old Market or tents by the stadium though.
Seeing Fresno win was one of the coolest sporting events I have ever been to.

Sorry UGA.

Been too long Tigers, Barrett's will be a lot of fun again!
This crowd is nuts. Arkansas brought a ton a few years ago and LSU is the other crowd that would compare. The LSU consistency is still peak stuff. MSU making their presence known as an Omaha mainstay though. This honestly feels like the LSU crowds I grew up with at Rosenblatt.

The SEC teams outside of Vandy are usually awesome; sorry Vandy your program is incredible, but not many fans come to town.

Texas is usually really good up here and other Big 12 schools show out decently b/c of proximity I assume.

NC State was awesome this year, the ACC crowds outside of Miami are pretty small and boring usually so it was cool to see them show up big.

The only great fanbase turnouts for the Pac are Oregon St and ASU if they can ever get back here.
There will be a new highest total CWS attendance record set tomorrow just FYI.
Good lunch spot near Cluprits is Block 16. The daily specials are unbelievable there. Closed Sundays though.

Local Beer and Kitchen is a new place close to the stadium that has 60 taps that are all Nebraska breweries. Kind of a cool place to get the local stuff.

If your looking for a place to drink somewhere different than the tents or Old Market check out Benson neighborhood. Two breweries and some really good craft beer bars, Krug Park has 60 taps, 1912 has a good rooftop patio. Not a sports bar scene though, live music venues and such.

If you are out late downtown and need some food go to the Localmotive food truck in the Ted and Wally's parking lot. Get the rounders.
No just looking to help. This is one of the few times people give a shite about this city I like it when people leave having had a good time. Seen every champion crowned since the 2000 LSU team love the CWS.
Cabs kind of suck. Get Uber or Lyft app.
Haha well that was quick. The developer of the project just said that they are going to delay construction for the CWS. Lot G will be open now.

CWS Parking

quote:

It was initially announced that the lots would be unavailable due to construction expected to begin on a new hotel development at the corner of 10th and Capitol.

Shamrock Development has decided to delay the construction in order to provide fans more parking options and has asked MECA to operate the lots for the first week of the CWS®. "Time is of the essence for our development but we feel keeping the lots open for an extra week is in the best interest of Omaha and the College World Series experience, "said a spokesman for the project.

Parking Lots E, G, and H will be available for fan parking beginning Friday, June 12th at 4 p.m. and on game days through Sunday, June 21st. Construction on the Capitol District project will begin on Monday, June 22nd.

Parking Lots A and the CenturyLink Center Omaha parking garage will be open for the entire run of the CWS. Garage parking will be $15 per vehicle during the CWS®. Parking in Lots A, E, G, and H will be $10. Cash payment and the following credit cards are now accepted: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
Pretty sure they have all of those lots by DJ's closed for the construction.

Updated map here.

CWS Parking

Lot D is massive and the lots have grass on the outsides as well as a wide interior sidewalk/grassy area that most people generally congregate too.

"The Yard" is a parking lot that isn't city owned.

Figured I would let you know so you don't get planned too far ahead. Lot G is out of commission for the CWS, they are starting construction on some new buildings.
