He didn't. The vote was 10-2, with LSU and USCe voting no. BUT because Gump and Gump Jr. Dawgs and Vols plus all of the other teams that wanted to avoid Bama or UF voted to keep permanent oppenants and this "Bridge" schedule.

You mean programs did what they thought was best for them?

29 pages and we finally get to the truth of the matter.

The sad part is that an easy conference slate hasn't helped Alabama at all....they still only have 2 SEC Championships in their "dynasty"

It’s amazing how effective the permanent opponent rule plays out for Alabama. In the years LSU beats Florida, Bama’s odds of having to play Florida in the SEC C.G. go down, and when Florida beats LSU, Bama’s odds of winning the SEC West go up—a win win for Bama either way. It’s very amusing how the Bama fans keep a straight face while they accuse the LSU fans of whining about this obviously unfair advantage Bama and the rest of the SEC West have against LSU.

It's even more "amazing" and "amusing" how frickin clueless you look trying to suggest that Alabama has been lucky to avoid and scared to face Florida in recent years. Alabama is 5-2 in its last 7 meeting with Florida dating back to the 2005 season with one of the losses being a close loss to 2nd ranked Florida in the SEC title game who went on to become the eventual national champion. Alabama has outscored Florida 166-39 in those 5 wins. Alabama isn't the least bit concerned with having to get through Florida to win a championship.

Try to keep up luke...we're talking about the last TWO yrs. of "bridge schedules" NOT the previous set rotation !
Where have you been for the last TWO years pal ? LOL

the funny thing is that lsu fans are so upset about the evil bridge schedule messing up the rotation. well, the infamous georgia/kentucky swap is actually following the old rotation. LSU was supposed to get Georgia this year and alabama was supposed to get Kentucky this year. Alabama was supposed to get Georgia last year, but that was changed because somebody had to play Missouri. This evil 2nd year of the bridge schedule is really just what the rotation would have been for both alabama and LSU in 2013 anyway. LSU was not due to play kentucky, having played them in the 2011 season, whereas alabama has not played them since 2008.

4-2 back to 2005.

6-2 back to 1999, 2-0 at home, 2-1 at Florida, 2-1 at a neutral site. (and beat them twice in the same year, something LSU might not know about)

5 of those Florida teams played in the SECCG.

But Alabama is ducking them.

If the rest of the SEC had the stones to stand beside LSU and make these complaints, we might actually get some results. LSU can't do it alone.

Try again. Look up 2003.

Thanks for all the attention to this thread, Alabama posters. Your input is invaluable.

My favorite part about this whole scheduling thing is that, to outsiders we claim that there are no easy games in the SEC - every game is a slug fest. And God forbid someone like Bob Stoops comes along and point out what trash we have at the bottom, we jump his arse and actually praise State and Vandy, and tell him to watch out for his brother at KY 'cause they'll be dangerous.

But to each other we basically say that there are really only about 2-3 tough games each year, and that everybody else sucks arse.

It's a scream.

Oh yeah, don't let that buckeye see this...

Love how Bama fans keep pointing this out, yet forget to mention you were supposed to play UGA as well this year. The rotation was home and home and last year was supposed to be the first year of UGA-BAMA

Wouldn't you rather have the greatest SEC game ever played instead of some lame home and home with less implications?

I think yes it would be great to have the best 2 teams meet with unblemished records. But it seems we should all have a similar path if possible. And it clearly appears with 6 top heavy teams , 3 in each division. That would be possible. Especially since the bridge schedule does not rely on past scheduling or future. Just seems BAMA-UGA, UF-LSU, SCAR-TAMU, is real simple. But that didn't happen , the east is pretty even, but LSU, I don't like them, but really? You cannot in good conscience say it was a fluke! They don't print the schedules, release them, and then realize the discrepancy. I guarantee you it was reviewed on the office before the ADs saw it. But what do you do , look bad and complain or just let the fans RANT!
