Could a one loss SEC champ miss the playoffs?

Now that the SEC Gods (Saban and Smart) have quit screwing around it looks like Bama vs UGA in the championship game. If Bama wins, could they be left out of the playoff? You could have undefeated champs from the PAC 12, Big 12, Big 10 and ACC.

Can’t see leaving out an undefeated champ from any of those leagues this season, but the chances of all four happening are very, very slim.

Yes of course. An undefeated Washington/Oregon, FSU, Oklahoma, and OSU/um Would make the playoffs a thousand times out of a thousand over bama or any other 1 loss sec champ.
Granted the odds of 4 undefeated P5 champs is extraordinarily low.

And President Potato could string together a coherent sentence.
Possible? Sure. Likely? Not really.

I agree...HOW MANY conf. will have anybody UNDEFEATED at the end of the season?

Zero chance. There's absolutely no way they'd leave a one loss Alabama out of the playoff, they've deservedly built up enough equity to get the benefit of the doubt and get in with one loss, even over an undefeated Pac 12 team.

Of course, they could. Say that UGA slips up against Ole Miss and takes a loss but wins the SECC.
FSU goes undefeated.
USC or Oregon goes undefeated.
One of Michigan/Ohio St/ Penn St goes undefeated.
Oklahoma goes undefeated.
In that scenario, a 1-loss SEC champ stays home from the playoffs.

Depends on the loss and how many undefeated teams are left

Like you said it would require the 4 other conferences to have undefeated conference champs.
Barring that, the 1-loss SEC champ would likely be the first team in with a single loss.

A one loss Texas team is getting in over UGA Bama … unless UGA doesn’t lose. If OU and Texas win out winner is getting a spot over sec … purely becuase of the Bama win. Sec only hope is UGA winning out and ior no more than 2 conferences of acc big ten and pac10 win out undefeated . That would leave room for Bama at one loss. I don’t see UGA losing one game getting in this year especially is OU loses to Texas in big 12 champ game .

Not likely.
The fact is the playoff committee has pretty much put forward their general criteria for playoff teams.
1 - Undefeated P5's (including ND)
2 - 1 loss P5 conference champs
3 - 1 loss non-champs
4 - undefeated G5's
They've never gotten past 4 so far.
The fact is a 1-loss non-champ (which is what Texas is looking to be unless OU falters), is not going to be chosen over a 1-loss conference champ... be it UGA/Bama or FSU/USC

Huh I am talking about it OU and Texas play again in big 12 champ . If Texas wins that they will have two really good wins.
if Texas wins out they will be in over UGA or Bama if UGA loses any game …. Even if Bama wins they are getting left out of Texas wins out ….
If Texas loses of course they are out because they will have two losses .. It would be close between. OU and UGA if UGA loses sec champ because we will have a much better win.

There are no divisions in the B12. Tex/OU win out they meet again in the B12 Championship.

Alabamas resume would trump most all those teams if they win out. A win over an undefeated UGA would get them in.

If it's Georgia, yes. SOS is weak compared to other 1 loss SEC teams. Just the facts.

If Bama plays UGA in the SECCG, only the winner has a shot at the playoff.

When Texas avenges themselves in December and earns a trip to the Fiesta Bowl while Bama heads to New Orleans the melt is going to be spectacular.
