At first, I was "not this shite again," then I was like, "I'll allow it."

These were the ROOKIES who would have been on that all star team. Every single one of them walked onto an NFL practice field and beat out a seasoned veteran from day one. That hypothetical team is light years better than Cleveland.

This isn't even debatable. In fact a bunch of players who weren't even good enough for that all star team walked in as starters for Cleveland that season.

It's really not. The Cleveland roster, especially the linemen, is made up of guys that are experienced in going up against the best of the best in the NFL. A college all-star team wouldn't get routed but the Browns would eventually be too much for them. Baker Mayfield, Jarvis Landry, Antonio Callaway...... Nick Chubb is 3rd on the depth chart.

Yes but the college All Stars would need more than 1 month to prepare. Pro teams have years playing together so they better understand how to play as a unit.

All stars aren't used to playing together under whatever system their coach installs.

A better comparison would be to take the best college team and allow them to supplement their team with any 10 or so players throughout the college game. That would be the equivalent of allowing them to get 10 1st round draft picks.

They would then likely win more often than not.

They would still need more than a month to prepare for the game.

Could Tua beat Superman in a cage match?

"No."

"No way."

"Well, if he had super powers and some kryptonite, he might be able to."

I didn't discuss the original post because it's dumb.

But do you think a team of the best college players could beat a team of the worst NFL players?

I wasn't trying to move the goalposts. I was trying to get the thread to an actual discussion, potentially.

I think they would win sometimes in this case, but who knows.

Yeah, and that badass veteran they have in Ward. And the dominant vets Baker Mayfield and Calloway.

They definitely aren't rookies who came in and immediately told their veteran teammates to get lost.

Not all of those guy you listed were All-Americans in college. I’m pretty sure at least half of the guys on these All-American teams turn out to be busts in the NFL.

If you look at your link, the college teams had a chance but once you got past the 1940's, the NFL opened up the gap

34 - 43 || College won 5, NFL won 5
44 - 53 || College won 3, NFL won 7
54 - 63 || College won 3, NFL won 7
64 - 73 || College won 0, NFL won 10
1974 - cancelled due to strike
75 - 76 || College won 0, NFL won 2

From 1964 til 1976 the college all star team did not win a single game

77' to 17' is 40 years so at least another generation to almost 2 generations later the gap between college and pro has gotten even bigger.

And the worst NFL team every year starts players who struggle and NFL busts.

It's kind of funny that it's all Bama guys saying the college players have a chance. They really think they'd stay within 3 TDs of Cleveland.

I hope Alabama fans don't think Alabama would stay within 3 TDs of Cleveland.

They probably just don't watch NFL football.

We aren’t talking about an exhibition game where people are half-assing it all over the field. We’re talking about trying to actually win the game.

IIRC, they cleared the stadium for lightning in the last game and never came back...ever.

, this is one of the better threads on here in a long time.

Someone needs to post and link it on the More Sports Board.

Tua could single handedly beat an NFL team by just throwing the ball to himself over and over.
