It’s truly pathetic that they keep rolling him out there. Although he does now sound presidential

Didn’t he announce retirement, something like 3 or 4 years ago, and they had this big production for him the last show? Then poof… he is on set the first show the next season and been there since? And no one said a word about it.

I remember when Keith Jackson did this on CBS. They had a whole season of tributes and he closed the Tennessee title win saying

"Tennessee 23, Florida State 16. And so it is done. I say goodbye to all of you. God bless and good night."

Dude was back to work in the fall like nothing happened.

Having had my mom move in her last 2 years of life due to dementia, all I can say is that Corso appears to be enjoying himself and is still able to function but sometimes has a hard time getting his thoughts out. I believe it’s better for him to still have a purpose in life vs forcing him to leave. Once you take that away from them they die. But when it becomes embarrassing, it’s time to move on. So far I still enjoy and appreciate his input.

Plus he's a bit of a mascot at this stage. He's not hurting anything and he's not embarrassing himself or being taken advantage of.

Some poeple just gonna hate.

Kirk and Fowler are the best

Show would probably be better if they brought Fowler back to replace Rece Davis. As sad as it is seeing Corso struggle to get through his bits, I'd rather see him up there than Rece every saturday.

Without Kirk he REALLY struggles. With Kirk, he’s able to get through it for the most part. I really respect Kirk for leaning into that role and helping out Corso in those tough spots where he’s struggling to get his thoughts out, it’s very kind of him.

I agree 100%. I've never changed my opinion of someone to the degree I have Kirk Herbstreit. When Kirk was young and new, and Corso was the man, Corso took care of Kirk. Now the roles are reversed. I think Kirk genuinely loves Lee Corso....and who wouldn't. In a world where these vapid a-holes think they are the product and wouldn't tolerate Corso as a side kick, Kirk does the human thing.

Corso's joy for life is contagious. I hope he stays as long as he wants to. He's earned that imo.

It already is, and has been some time.

People talking about this guy like he's some kind of institution. He's a talking head. Had a great career. Time to move on.

I'd rather listen to Lee stumble over his words for 3 straight hours than listen to Bear's lisp or Desmond's fake screeching cackle every time somebody says something. Those two and Rece Davis have really brought the show down. Chris Fowler was a natural and made the games they talked about seem big time, Rece Davis looks and acts like he's talking about the contestants on American Idol. I think Lee is so revered that they not only are letting him keep going but are also afraid that if they take it away from him he won't keep going. If GameDay is going to put people like those retarded rappers from the first show who were high as a kite and actually sounded worse than Lee then they can let Lee work through his segments as long as he wants
