The Tennessee band playing the opposing team's fight song during pregame is pretty neat.

This is really common in the Big Ten for whatever reason. It's interesting, but it's always a good chance to boo when they make out the Ohio State or Michigan logo

SC did this for a bit, not sure if it was just under Holtz, but we cut it out around 2004-2005. I think people got particularly mad to hear our own band play, "Tiger Rag"

Notre Dame does it, I know (at least ND's band plays Penn State's fight song in Rudy ), so it's possible it was Holtz's idea.

Holtz also made the New York Jets play a fight song, so it's not unbelievable he would do that

Didn't Holtz want to have a new fight song written for S. Carolina when he was there?

Random thought and question; is A&M the only school in the country without a Homecoming?

(not that I mind not having it)

No? But it was under him when the Rooster Crow debuted (although mascot-specific sounds as a whole started popping up as a fad back then), and he gave us an interlocking USC logo. Put it on the field and on the gear, it looked like crap... but I'm pretty sure it was only to get under So.Cal's skin.

We may not win the games, but we win your soul.

I've never even been to a game in Columbia, but that rooster call, even on tv, is hauntingly annoying

It's like the "brrrrrrrrrrrrrr" foghorn noise vanderbilt plays after every first down. It's really just more annoying than anything else.

Yeah no way that isn't an LSU alter

For the OP

Bama and Arkansas have fun fight songs (also have the two nicest stadiums but that isn't really tradition)
Auburn- War Eagle (Toomer's is kinda lame as an outsider)
A&M- honestly most of the weird aggie traditions are endearing
UGA- the dude that plays the trumpet in the upper deck during pregame was neat

Can you explain this? A band member or fan? University sanctioned or just a guy who likes the trumpet?

It's a member of the band. He stands in teh upper SW corner of the stadium (amongst the fans) and plays the opening notes of our fight song. Then our pregame video highlight montage set to Munson plays on teh big screen.

Yeah that shite wouldn't fly at Alabama and probably most SEC schools. We hate each other to much to do that.

When Coach Richt offers explanations as to what happened to his preseason highly ranked team.

Gives me chills.
