I came to post this. Good game. Egg Bowl is usually one of my favorites. Those two teams legitimately do not like each other. There is no manufactured hate there.

It was a bit chippy last night but the hate on the field has subsided considerably under Kiffin and Leach. With Freeze, Mullen, Luke & Moorhead it was very toxic.
Still very emotional and hard fought rivalry game but I hope some of the extracurricular is in the rear view mirror nowadays.

The egg bowl and iron bowl are just different than other rivalry games
There are many great rivalry games but these 2 are the only ones where the games are almost guaranteed to have some really crazy shite happen

Well now that Leach beat them I think it gets heated again. Honestly the rivalry seems more heated when State wins for some reason. OM fans cannot stand it.

Yeah the rivalry only suddenly becomes “toxic” when Ole Miss loses… I wonder why?? Maybe the chairs and beer cans on the field give hints
