I don't understand people complaining about the blocked punt. If the refs call the false start there is no blocked punt.

Holy shite this is cry-baby stuff but I'll bite.
The punt block wouldn't have mattered as it was an illegal shift which still results in a redo of the play.
If anything was bad, it was the facemask that should've gotten called in like the 2nd quarter but after the replay, the ref was just at an inconvenient angle to have seen it.
But shite, this is whiny arse baby stuff.

So allow me to opine here.
1) If we are going on what actually happened the blocked punt was a false start the play was dead...Bama backs up and still punts.
2) Officials definitely missed the face mask penalty without a doubt....but that happens.
3) After both of these penalties and the subsequent drives played out UGA was still up 20-7 in the 3rd quarter.

Overall it was a decently officiated game. However, every missed call (there actually weren't a ton compared to most games) seemed to be in Bama's favor. Having said that, UGA had every opportunity to win that game and couldn't do it.
The coverage on 2nd and almost 30 in ot was inexcusable (as was the offensive play calling in the second half).

The only reason UGA got the jump to block the punt is because two (or 3) Bama players false started. You cant cherry pick the wrong calls. If the play was called correctly, Bama still gets a re-punt. Drop this one.
