Shaw was tough as they come. He could absorb an insane amount of punishment and keep playing at a high level.

A QB that any player would rally around.

I thought I must've missed the part where I said Cocks are the only ones who post dumb stuff.

Checked again, and I don't see where I typed it.

But he wasn't a great pocket passer so that's why he isn't JB

It was a question that compared two SEC QB's that were both the best QB their respective schools had ever seen. In my mind, it's hard to impugn someone for asking a question. It's not like they were making a statement of fact. The answer to the question is obviously no, but it doesn't hurt to ask the question for an off season topic of discussion.

I think the question was more about the supporting casts than the QB's themselves. Honestly I've seen way WAY worse on MBG than that one. Heck I've seen way, WAY worse on HERE that never made it to MBG...

But hey, it's the offseason. I guess everyone needs content....

Probably a Clemson alter not sure anyone else really hates usce enough. There’s gamecocks pretending to be Clemons on here and birds of feather flock together so I imagine opposite is true as well.

Spurrier and Clowney get a lot of the limelight, but without Shaw, those years would have been subpar for the Gamecocks.

That defense had a ton of pros on it. Gilmore, Ingram, Clowney, Swearinger, etc. The defense got credit for good reason.

Shaw was tough and with Alshon we won a ton of ball games, but it wasnt the offense carrying those teams.

Shaw was too short for the NFL, and his arm strength left a little to be desired.

That said, he's one of the best QBs in the SEC of the last 10-15. He was overlooked for some reason, even though he never lost a home game and owned Clemson's arse.

Aaron Murray got a lot more hype, despite not being able to hold Shaw's cleats.

Owning career SEC passing records kind of helps.

Also they only matched up twice and split the games.

Murray outplayed him in Georgia's win also, so it's not like Garcia vs. Murray in 2011 when Murray clearly outplayed SG, but lost the game.

I hated Shaw but respected his game. I think he went to Cleveland which says everything about his chances of making it a career.

I still remember year 1 vs Mizzou in the SEC, Shaw completed what felt like 30 straight passes.

IMO, he was their best QB since Mizzou joined the SEC.

Yes. Other than the talent, success (at all levels), money, fame, and popularity, Connor is basically the same as Joe.

I think that's because he did. He was just a few shy from breaking the NCAA record, but no one knew it at the time. Plus, the game was in hand, and Spurrier had a strong run game that year, and bled the clock.

Shaw is the best QB we've had since Mizzou has been here, true. I think Rattler can take that title next year, if he and Loggains mesh well. It's no secret that Satterfield and Rattler didn't see eye to eye, and as a result SC's offense was a mess until the end of the year, when it was simplified and everything clicked.

Shaw was 17-0 at home. That ought to count for something, and it's like a forgotten stat.

Shaw outplayed the hell out of Murray in 2012, *his* win in the series.

I'm not comparing Shaw to Burrow. Burrow has hardware. But I am saying he is desperately underrated in recent SEC history, and added a contemporary as my rationale.

Actually, Shaw and Burrow had similar records in college.

Shaw was 27-5 or 84.375%
Burrow was 25–3 or 89.29%

My only rebuttal to this whole post

The original post was downvoted...so Gamecock fans didnt agree with the post. It could have been an alter...surely nobody is that stupid to have that take right?

Shaw was a winner, and tough. WE will always love him but we are honest about his talent. He just maximized it and gave 100%.

Burrow is fun as hell to watch and is insanely talented. Ill also mention he plays with heart. His offensive line is trash and he still stands back there with poise.
