Everyone inflates their attendance though. Just like everyone cheats at recruiting. Some are just better at it than others.

One of the mid week games at OM a week or two ago started after bad weather and tornado warnings. There was maybe a couple of hundred at the game. Official attendance. 6000+

They buried my grandma under third base after she died in the stands during the Ole Miss - MSU series.
It was a quiet ceremony. Ron Polk gave the eulogy. Scott Stricklin attended and cried the entire time.
