Not knocking her fandom. I'm sure she's a knowledgeable fan. But It's hard to take someone's wisdom about football seriously if they NEVER PLAYED A SINGLE DOWN of competitive full-contact football, whether they are male or female.
Some of the most knowledgable analysts about football never played a down at any level. Saying, "You have to play to REALLY understand the game" isn't something I agree with.
Example: Pete Rozelle, former NFL commissioner, never played football his entire life.

I don't give a shite about the not playing football thing. So please don't bring that point towards me. Mine is a completely sexist viewpoint I'm not afraid to admit that. Like I said I may be wrong, but playing the percentages. If I ever meet her or watch an interview wjth her where she proves me wrong, I will gladly say I'm wrong, I have no problem admitting that

I also just read her dad was a high school guidance counselor and Presbyterian minister, not a football coach.

As the daughter of a football coach, she naturally developed into a student of the game. Together, they analyzed offenses and defenses, and each NFL season began by studying Street & Smith’s pro football report.

If you're asking.. I think it's ridiculous.
When you spend 8 hours a day working in a career you normally become an expert.
There are 16 hours left in the day.
Normally 8 for sleeping.. ANd then you have eating, commuting, shopping, paying bills, family time, and sometimes a little left for a hobby.
12 members of the committee are experts in football.
1 is a hobbyist (who happened to fill the "diversity requirement")

Gen. Gould is a "hobbyist"? How does he fill the diversity requirement? Is he gay?

Well, yea, in your context, the word "leaked " means in a secretive manner. This was just part of a general conversation on ESPN that day, and it was discussed here, along with other committee related issues, for several pages. This was in the 1-2 wk of the committee & it was not headline type material back then.
