It’s not my job to teach your dumbass about basic economics and why there will be a football season.
Unfortunately, college football is at the mercy of the most strident anti-Trump faction in America, academia. First off, leftist and Marxist academic types have no concept of economic realities so the facts won’t matter to them. Secondly, the pinhead academic types largely resent collegiate athletics in the best of times. If they can use the Chinese Flu as an excuse to destroy the whole athletic system at the university level, they’re going to take it.

If the NCAA/political left hasn't figured it out here is an idea. Play flag football and have the flags disinfectant wipes. Wear diving mask with oxygen bottles on their backs. Have the wipes at least 6 foot long so that when running with the ball it creates a tail so that when a defender grabs the back end he will be 6 ft away. Have the sidelines extended the entire 120 yds to keep your social distance. Then have Dr. Falsi be the ref. That should do it.

These are the facts:
1. 99.8% who test positive in the USA recover with no problems and most have no symptoms;
2. No college or professional athlete in the USA has died from Coronavirus;
3. No one under 21 years old in the USA has died from Coronavirus;
4. High risk group are people over 75 years old with serious existing health issues and this group should take all proper precautions;
5. Around 40,000 to 80,000 people die in the USA from the common flu every year.
Wake up people! Open up our country! Stop living in fear!

I am curious as to how teams will handle positive cases. They will be harder to work around in football than baseball. Baseball teams can play every day and even have double headers. They're used to dealing with frequent rainouts that cause similar disruptions.
A football team is a far more complex entity. More players, more coaches, more support staff, more recovery time, and much, much more game preparation.

90% of all the Money coming into most P5 Athl Depts comes from FB or is because of FB in some ancillary way, I said most so don't tell me about Ky MBB
Now consider yo' arse convinced!
No P5 Athl Dept is going to "scuttle their entire fleet of Sports offerings" without trying to "manage" their way through this Pandemic and save the Revenues which in turn will save their entire Athl Dept
No wonder y'all confederates got y'all arse kicked by US Grant, sure does seem like a lotta "quittin' genes" got passed down from your confederate ancestors
I see a lotta quit down here in former confederate country

If I were the NCAA I would preemptively plan for attrition due to positive CV19 Tests
I would tell all P5 HCs that they can temporarily EXPAND their Rosters to 100 scholarship players, they can go to D1AA, DII, and to the JUCO Ranks (or to any College that has cancelled their season) to transfer in Players immediately that they think are good enough to Play P5 CFB and keep the Games going without interruption
Before any smart arse replies, frick Title-IX, we're in a Pandemic and this is a 1-time deal for no more than 2 seasons (after then back to 85 schollies) to keep the Games & TV Money flowing that WILL SAVE ALL COLLEGIATE ATHLETICS
I understand it's not perfect, but you never allow perfect to be the enemy of progress
The NCAA should be thinking about saving the TV Money that keeps all of College Sports alive

The Fed Govt will have no leverage in negotiations, without the money from CFB, Athl Depts wiil cease to exist and there won't be any Women's Sports for the Title-IX zealots to argue about
In a triage situation, you clear the airway, stop the bleeding, AND ONLY THEN can you treat the wound
At this point College Sports is about to have their "Money airway blocked" and once College Sports dies so will Title-IX
C'mon pal, don't be so argumentative, just engage your brains a little

There have been dozens of positive tests and nothing is shut down yet. Many players might already have immunity by late September. If people start dying it all shuts down.

So far THE SCIENCE says that there is no immunity or it is very short lived making reinfection a significant risk
The CV19 immunity rumors are nothing more than an Urban Myth

That makes zero sense.
There will be positive tests and a protocol for handling them.

***FACT CHECK***
quote:
Even with evidence of fading antibodies, reinfection with SARS-CoV-2 is unlikely because of what we generally know about immune reaction to viruses, researchers say.
“In some patients, persistent remnants of inactive viral particles may trigger a persistently positive PCR test, and patients then may think they have a reinfection,” said Dr. Don L. Goldenberg, an emeritus professor of medicine at the Tufts University School of Medicine in Massachusetts and the author of “How the COVID-19 Pandemic Is Affecting You and Your Healthcare.” . “There have been recent cases that do likely represent a true reinfection, although this does seem very unusual.”
For most, it’s simply that the pathology of this virus isn’t well understood. What might seem like reinfection could simply be longer-term effects of the virus, or reemergence of viral propagation inside someone who feels better but never fully cleared the effective virus from their system.

So there's no reinfection according to this Study, but the trade off is, is that once infected ,for some patients clearing the virus from your body and being completely healed may take a much longer time than previously expected
Thanks for the info, assuming it is the most recent Science available, but from your perspective I'd call it a pyrrhic victory
