I don't see how this gets done with issues MLB is going through and with larger football rosters in a college environment where it's next to impossible to control their surroundings.

College hoops has a chance to play due to small rosters.
College baseball has been playing summer leagues so they can make it work as well.

Convince me otherwise.

Nothing would surprise me either way at this point.

It’s not my job to teach your dumbass about basic economics and why there will be a football season.

You don’t get to make an outlandish statement and then say people need to prove you wrong.

Well they haven’t shut the MLB down even though they’ve had positive tests.

The Marlins played the Phillies with an outbreak on there team and yet not a single Philly tested positive.

That would seem to be good news.

Of course it's good news. I swear some people are just looking for reasons to freak out.

MLB is not a contact sport. Basketball would be a better measuring stick, but they play in a bubble. We won’t really know about FB until they play the games. If they play the games.

Tell me about basic economics and how the entire country and economy won’t get shut down. Did you just wake up from a 4 month nap?

I'm out of the prediction game at this point.

Sports, politics, religion, whatever

But the plan they are sitting on now sounds like it makes the most sense, and allows for quarantine after 1st game if necessary

Once conference play starts, it will provide 2 byes for makeups

Multiple teams have already had players test positive for the virus. On Wednesday, Orgeron said LSU had two players who had tested positive. When is the shut down going to happpen?

There is no College Football entity. The NCAA can't stop individual conferences from playing and the big boys will play. They have 105(85 scholarship) total kids at their disposal for each team. They will navigate around it, as they should. Most, if not all schools will not have students on campus so no worries there and public contact will actually be more controlled than they currently are because of the structure of practice and team related requirements. So essentially a majority of their time during the season will be around teammates, staff and tutors/academic advisors.

This is why they need to start week 0 and include several bye weeks and a couple extra weeks at the end to tack on makeup games.

Right but OP brought up the MLB and used it as evidence to predict what will happen with CFB.
