Brody Miller tweets:

quote:

Ed Orgeron speaking to the Baton Rouge rotary club and makes this joke about NIL:

"We're paying players now. Name, Image and Likeness. So if you guys wanna start paying our players, you can go ahead!" #LSU

quote:

Orgeron asked who will make the most money.

"I think it's good ... as long as it's handled in the right way. I think there's going to be some disappointment. They're going to learn what taxes are. They'll realize they're not gonna get paid as much as they think they oughta."

"I just don't want it to affect the locker room."

Told the team he's for it, but they came here to go to school and play football games. Most important is to focus on that.

"But if that becomes your sole purpose, you're headed in the wrong direction." #LSU

quote:

Orgeron asked about businesses creating an internship for players for NIL purposes:

"Do it. I'm serious. As many of you want to give our players money legally, do it. We would like that done. Other schools are doing it--and bragging about it."

Wow!

Isn't there some sort of protocol they need to follow?

I am asking because I don't know.

There is a rule that you aren't supposed to use it as a recruiting tool, but it won't be enforced. Look at the comments from Saban about Young making seven figures already. Every school will be touting to top recruits how much its players are being paid.

O The Rosy Finch Boyz LLC came into your house, drank your water, made your adults curse and your kids cry, then waved goodbye to your bitchmade fanbase and took what was left of your dignity with them back to Red Stick.

I know two basketball players who got money to play for Oklahoma 20 years ago, it's not unusual.

No, the players go out and negotiate what they can in the Free Market. Louisiana's NIL law gave the authority to LSU if they want the players to use LSU brands, trademarks, Jerseys, school colors, etc (and LSU has said 100% yes, use whatever you want from LSU to market yourself.

As of now, I think the biggest winner in NIL is LSU's gymnast Oliva Dunne, she inked > $1 million in NIL endorsements apparently because she has a social media following in the stratosphere. ( I don't do twitter, Instagram, etc)

So Coach O was dead on, if you can market yourself go for it, LSU will give you permission to use LSU imaging and brands, and I would think they would provide advising on tax issues (hello 1099 for this athletes), sports branding, legal, but then they go and market themselves.

Eh, the NFL makes it work. The 3rd string kicker isn't making as much as Dak Prescott

Well that could explain why lots of 20-25 year old's are following her, I can understand that. Like I said, I don't have Twitter, Instagram or this new Tic ToC whatever,

Well I would assume she is also in addition to being attractive, she at least is ALL SEC in her Sport as she is on Scholarship.

Went read up more, she negotiated with a Company out in Los Angeles. Good for her, this article said she cut hit $5 Million. And yes, I can see why lots of college boys follow her around on social media.

Out of Bama, LSU and Ole Miss, remind me which school received a two-year bowl ban for cheating within the past 10 years.
