Would be a smart move. Hell of a DL coach and recruiter

I wish he could've stayed at LSU in some capacity, just not as head coach

Back in the day he was forced to resign and had to leave Miami with a police escort to the county line because of repeated assaults etc., including head butting a woman and repeatedly violating a court restraining order to keep him away from other women he harassed. .

But perhaps all that is now moot.

Where you live that might be a big deal but in Miami that's just a Tuesday.

I know a guy that played football with Ed at Northwestern State and who kept in touch with him. He told me that when Ed was coaching at Miami in the late 80s, Ed asked a drug lords daughter to marry him, she said yes, but he stood her up. Said the dad wanted to kill him and that was part of the reason he left Miami. I don’t know if it’s complete bullshite but something tells me there’s at least part of it that’s true.

Mascot. I can see him and Mike wrestling in Mike's habitat for pregame. Put him in the trailer with a cast of Natty and parade him around the stadium during the game.

Well the guy you responded to is from New Orleans so, it's probably not a big deal to him.

From Ed's Wikipedia:
quote:

In October 1992, Orgeron took a leave of absence from the University of Miami coaching staff for personal reasons. the departure turned out to be a permanent one, however and he was replaced by assistant coach Randy Shannon.

Sounded like he needed to get the frick outta Dodge
