Dabo has been getting credit for his coordinators for years, why would O be any different? It’s his job to win and he is. If that means he’s putting smarter people around him and letting them succeed, good for him. That’s what he’s supposed to do. Play to your strengths outsource the rest and motivate.

I don't give a rat's arse. Last I checked it was LSU at #2 and not Ed O. or anyone individual. We now have offense and we are winning ... and ... We are not losing to the midlings. So, let him say what he wants.

Saban still hasnt fixed his kicking game woes. This goes back to lsu years

Yeah, that has really stopped him from being successful.

Actually in 2013, Saban could have won a NC if he would have had just a good kicker.

It just pains a lot of people that O is successful because of the way he talks. Plain and simple. He knows football. Anyone that thinks otherwise is a fricking blowhard.

Honest question. Do people really thing Nick is all up in his offensive scheming? Or Urban in his defensive scheming? No. Nick focuses on defense and Meyer on his offense. There isn't enough time for a head coach to focus on both. O focuses on the d-line in practices. During games he manages the fricking game.

It was a 57 yard kick on the road in a hostile environment

That was just a bad fricking call.

Curious...what were Orgeron's issues with Cannada? Looks like he's given the keys of the offense to Brady and left him alone but didn't do the same for Cannada. Read an article on Cannada a month or so ago and some former LSU offensive players praised his offensive mind...just wondering what the issue might have been...

He has taken a ceo approach. He sets the trend, then hires the right people to get to the goal and allow them to do their jobs.

As far as to whether or not it matters, nope.... not at all.

Not giving the head coach credit for the teams success is just stupid...we would damn well be blaming him if the team sucks.

All I know, is we look like a well coached team every game. No confusion, few pre-snap penalties, motivated players, good discipline.
O makes good in game decisions, aggression when it makes sense, good clock management—I am seldom frustrated with how the games are managed...

I think it was more of a personality clash than anything. Getting blasted by State and only putting up 7 points made O panic. It's pretty telling that Canada was constantly on the move from job to job and is currently unemployed.

A head coach is only as good as the assistants he hires.

I've maintained since the outset I thought Coach O could put together a culture that could bring LSU big time short term success (similar to Chizik).

My guess is that he may not have the tools to keep that going in the long term, but credit is definitely due to O for putting that staff together and building LSU's culture for the moment.

To be clear I'm not claiming O will necessarily flame out after this season, but I do think if LSU wins a title a lot of assistants will get the credit if O can't sustain success. But even if that happens, as did Chizik, it's unfair. For example, while plenty of people could coach Cam Newton to greatness, I think Chizik had the perfect personality to deal with the success and turmoil of that AU season and I'm not sure a lot of better coaches would have handled it as well.

That's really tough to say right. O has so many connections around college football and the NFL that he can pretty much call someone on any staff, college or NFL, to gauge interest. And if he starts doing stuff like finding the Joe Brady's of the world and becomes a feeder for those types of coaches then he can absolutely be set up for long term success. Who wouldn't want to coach at LSU right now?

2011 LSU 9, UA 6 in OT. Without a lot of luck after this game, bama misses out on the NC with arguably the best defense in the pre-RPO modern era. Bama missed several medium-to-long range FG's in this game.

2013 Auburn 34, Alabama 28. Kick Six anyone?

Bama could have at least 1 more NC if not for kicking game issues, and 1-2 more undefeated season. It has definitely cost us.

no matter how you feel about him personally the pieces he has moved around to turn the offense around in a complete 180 in under 2 years is incredible.

everyone really try and remember LSUs offense before this year.

him orchestrating that masterplan is and incredible job.
