There was absolutely no quarterback development at all which is why both of LSU's last two starters have been transfers.

So you’re crediting Miles for why we got Burrow?

lol thanks, Les!!

Well Miles' first 3 years were 2005, 2006 and 2007, so I'm not sure what the 2010s have to do with this.

2010s is the reason why Miles was fired and O was hired.

Again, I'm failing to see a point. So they had similar starts... WHAT'S THE frickING POINT?

I'm not saying he left the program in a hole. Just that it wasn't in great shape when O took over

I’ll agree to disagree. Coaching-wise, he checked out around 2013-14. But he kept the program stable—which is extremely beneficial to the next guy in line.

I think you are both right.

He did keep the program stable - he didn't destroy it, he didn't destroy high school relationships, he kept signing most of the Louisiana kids. However, he also wasn't doing things at an elite level (recruiting or coaching). He was kind of getting and doing the easy things, and you can do that at a place like LSU and still have a Top 15-20 program.

This is my point.

Part of the reason O wasn't able to have much success offensively in 2017 and 2018 was because he didnt have the personnel.

Look at 2018, LSU has to start a quarterback who's only been with the team for a month.

There were only like 3 offensive players with any kind of starting experience.

The receivers were young and inexperienced and dropped like 10% of Burrow's passes.

The offensive line was a constant merry go round.

Personnel or not, Canada was an atrocious hire. That’s not on Miles. O didn’t try to change the offense until it was year 3.

To call the 2017 and 18 offensive lines patchwork would be a major understatement, not just Bama and Florida, but teams like Southeastern were pushing us around. CEO has focused on building the team from the inside-out

Correct, when you only look at their first 3 year records, and nothing else.

I knew in 2006 what the Miles offense would be for years to come. The eye-opening game was LSU at Florida, the horrible sets and play calling.

I was skeptical about O, but I'm not anymore. He will bring in coaches that do a better job, and gets rid of coaches who don't cut it.

If you want Miles, hire him after Saban leaves.

All thanks to Saban

The 2006 roster especially was fricking loaded

Anyway, Miles when the program was his own players was a solid, lets say 14th in the country type of program

2011 was the exception, not the rule

Some coaches make the team and players better. Some players make the coaches "look better". I think we all really know which applies.

Canada was an attempt to change the offense and he was a big name hire coming from Pitt (they had beaten Clemson in 2016). It didn't work out (though I think the offense was decent after the Troy game given personnel), but he was trying to move away from Miles/Cameron ineptitude
