I don't get the hate either. One of the all time greats in his trade, went to West Point and played under Bobby Knight, served as captain of the team, served active duty military, asst under Knight at Indiana, head coach at West Point, and Olympic gold medal winner. Somebody get this man a Budweiser and a bald eagle.

They showed Frank earlier.
Coach K looked shell shocked. Wow. Seems like they didn't see this coming.

Hope Coach Ratboy talks more politics now. *Karma*

He lauded Thornwell before the game. He knew what he was getting into but thought his team could overcome our D. Didn't turn out that way, it was clear Carolina was fired up the whole game. Some incredible effort on the defensive side of the ball.
I just hope we don't have another half offensively like that first one. shite that was awful. You're not gonna get many second chances like that.

Oh come on, be nice to paw paw. His grandkids are too busy to visit. Rats can be nice guys and good teachers too, just look at Master Splinter.
The fact that Martin looks like he stepped off the set of The Sopranos doesn't mean he isn't actually a nice dude

His suits certainly aren't nice that's for sure

Seriously, why so much hate? Yall won. Don't be that guy that's a bad winner. Spend your energy positively by celebrating your team. Considering how long it's been since yall have been here you shouldn't want to waste an ounce of energy being negative by hating on a team you already beat.

Mike's cheeks were red during the 2nd half. He looked like he was mentally spent. They knew what was happening.

Was talking about Frank's suits man. They look like they're made of your mother's back hair.

Well don't tell him that to his face just in case he really is mafia

Frank's suit looked like what you'd see on one of car salesman at one of those 'We tote the note' car lots.....But he's a heck of a coach.
I thought coach K was complimentary of USC....I have much respect for what he's done over the long haul.

When he said attitude this year wasn't a problem I lost it.

Great effort, play like that and you can beat anybody. The only bad thing about a win like that is avoiding a letdown after such an emotional game.

Well we don't play again until Friday and the guys don't have to practice today. We should be fine, especially since we're a Frank Martin coached team. The issue will be Baylor's zone and keeping them off the offensive glass.

Same. I get the hate from rival schools and stuff, but outside of that Coach K seems like all class to me. There were several times he could have lost his cool, showed his tail in the game last night but he remained composed. Even after the game he was complementary of SC and just sad for his kids.

Everyone hates K because he has a propensity to whine when things don't go the way he wants. As someone mentioned in a previous thread, we have all these touch fouls now because K complained after Pitino and Louisville roughed up his widdle Dookies in the tourney a few years ago. Wouldn't be surprised if he didn't do it again in a few days when the dust has settled. I'll give him credit, he tries to be classy, but with that rat face, the nasally voice, and the butthurt whine every time he gets beat, it's hard to take him seriously.
Way to go, Cocky. You did us all a favor.

I like Coach K a lot. I also listen to his radio show from time to time on Sirius XM.
One thing he said leading up to the tournament that I think he will rethink now:
Paraphrase: The ACC is a tough conference because of the physical style of play and that they will be best prepared for tournament ball because of it.
I really think he was surprised by SCe physicality. Also, the ACC is just about dead in the tournament, so there goes that reasoning out the window.

You guys must not remember coach K from the 80s and 90s. He has mellowed out the last decade, probably because he is old now but he was universally the most hated coach within coaching circles for a long time. Dude would not talk to Valvano until he retired from coaching and was dying. His own mentor, Bobby Knight, didn't talk to him for the better part of 15 years. He bullies refs and coaches his players to abuse refs like they are NBA players.
