Clemson won't release ostarine investigation findings

Some tidbits...

"If the school knows how the players came into contact with an illegal PED, if the source was inside or outside the athletic department — or if the problem was more widespread — it is not saying."

"The Post and Courier sought and received thorough cooperation from Clemson during investigative reporting in past years involving data on the use of painkillers within the football program and football concussions."

"Head coach Dabo Swinney told The Post and Courier in February the players might have been given ostarine in some form accidentally by Clemson.

“Oh yeah, I mean, there’s a chance that it could come from anything,” the two-time national championship winner said. “They’re going to test everything and look at everything. And that’s the problem. As you really look at this stuff, it could be a contaminant that came from anything, that was something that was cleared and not a problem, and all of a sudden, it becomes there was something.”"

"The Post and Courier also asked for ostarine-related email, text and other correspondence from December 1 to mid-February 10 involving Swinney, athletic director Dan Radakovich, president Jim Clements and members of the sports medicine, training and nutrition staffs.

Clemson in late May provided only 33 mostly heavily redacted documents that shed little light on the volume or diligence of its in-house investigation."

They know exactly how they got it because they gave it to them.

Dude. Just drop it. Tainted supplements is a thing. These supplement companies in China don't clean the vats before they mix a different supplement in it and athletes test positive all the time because of it. It is VERY easy for this to happen. There are thousands of UFC articles about this if you want to research it. Dabo isn't lying through his teeth while he feeds his entire team PEDs. That's completely outrageous and you know it. Get off the Clemson d*ck.

Why does Clemson have to release anything about the findings? Is there a rule or regulation that forces them to release the information?

No. If anything, federal privacy laws are more likely to prohibit them from releasing any findings as opposed to mandating they release the findings.

Typical gamepock posters stacking up Ls.

It's against the rules to use the stuff. If you have nothing to hide and all is above board, cooperate.

They are taking the Fifth so to speak. I guess they can do this, but it isn't a good look. If they are prohibited from releasing the findings, say so.

It's complicated. A request can be made for the findings under the S.C. Freedom of Information Act, however, the school is claiming that the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act prevents them from releasing the information because the investigation is tied to their student-athletes failing a drug test (which is, I guess, a part of their student record).

It'd be interesting to see the outcome if someone sued the school to release the records under the SC FOIA, because it seems like Clemson would be required to release some information about their investigation.

ETA: A player who tested positive could also waive his rights under FERPA to have the information released related to his failing of the drug test. Now THAT would be interesting.

So what you are saying is that Clemson Didn't give the players these PEDs..Correct?

There is a difference not going out of your way to burning someone and the school issuing these PEDs as the accusation is.

Clemson and its fanbase will never, ever admit they have any problems.

They are like a cult.

Three players got caught taking in something and they got caught and are ineligible. One of them is a First Round NFL Draft pick that set out the Playoffs and had to leave Clemson because he was ineligible. The other 2 lost their appeal and cannot play next year.

Stupid? Yes. An institutional problem? No. With that said, if this continues to happen then some tough questions need to be asked...
