Wasn't impressed with Auburn's win against C of C
That was the ugliest game Auburn has played all season. We deserved to be out of the tournament w a shite performance like that
quote:
Have watched Auburn twice this year, and they typically seem to play tough and are well coached.
We are very opportunistic and play well together. We struggle in half court sets though, especially when PG Jared Harper is having a bad day
quote:
Clemson has three great guards, and a decent center in Thomas.
Auburn struggles against teams whose post men pass effectively to an open shooter who can hit the 3
Teams who try to force it inside or who don't pass well generally struggle
quote:
If Clemson can consistently get to the basket, I think Clemson wins by 8.
Not many guards have been able to consistently get to the basket. Generally when guards do well vs is it is hitting outside shots or circus shots
quote:
Clemson was blessed with great announcers the first game...
Sums up our entire seasons announcing quality. Probably will just mute the game

lol,
What I'm talking about is supply and demand. Again, G Tech is 15,000 undergrads in the 8th most populated state.....Clemson is 18,500 undergrads in the 23rd most populated state. Which is going to be more selective? Why is it impressive that a smaller school in a more populated state is more selective? Lol
In my view, if you are going to compare colleges based on selectivity, you should account for student enrollment and the state population size. If you are including private colleges, you should take into account they have no requirement to take a majority of in state students.
If you don't do this, you are't comparing apples to apples.
Clemson is one of hte most popular colleges in the country for out of state students....that's why it has one of the highest OOS tuition.

lol (no seriously, I am loling at you, not with you on this)

Clemson OoS = ~34K
Virginia OoS = ~44K
Michigan OoS = ~47K
Without looking it up, I am fairly sure...
Clemson has more in State students as % of Clemsons student body
Ga Tech has more out of State students as % of Tech's student body
I am also fairly sure...
As % of student body
Clemson has lower % of grad students
Georgia Tech has higher % of grad students

GenesChin, I wouldn't say our big men are great passers... Which plays in your favor. Big men are good defensively and average on offense. Brownell is a good X and Os coach, but we have a tendency to shoot ourselves in the foot. Think it will be a good one!

crazy how much time you spend marketing colleges you didn't attend, without getting paid for it. lol
UVA gets a lot of applications simply b/c it is Jefferson's college. that has nothing to do with academics homey.
it is also closer to the more populated northeast than Clemson which isn't exactly easy to get to from outside the south.

Yeah, most 17 year olds I know in the 21st century apply to colleges based on whether or not the founder of the college was also one of the Founding Fathers of the United States.
I like you, Tillman. I really do. You're a good guy

It’s great that a thread dedicated to a BB game has devolved into the academic excellence of schools. That’s why I come to a sports forum. How about you take your argument to email or whatever. No one else cares.
My feeling is AU will be lucky to win this one. Respect to CU, but AU hasn’t been the same since AM’s injury. Very lucky to come out of the last game. It will take a good game of shooting to win tonight.

Huh? Are you being sarcastic? When I was 17, I cared about such stuff. I totally applied to Washington and Lee because I didn't want to have to choose between America and the Confederacy. Eventually, the whole country divided thing caused a nervous breakdown and I decided to just go to a college founded by a robber-baron who brutally oppressed the common man. No hang-ups there, right?

So you are saying you had "too much Bama in me" type revelation?

You need at least 1000 posts before you can have an opinion. 2500 before you can post that opinion. 50,000 before you can stop apologizing for being a UT fan.
But you can porn-bomb at 10 posts. Go ahead, try it out.

Not directed directly at you. You just happened to be the last person posting. It was an overall impression of the thread. My apologies if it appeared directed at you.

Well, I'm from Mississippi. We don't have 'revelations' -- too hot and humid to be doin' that sort of thing. Instead, we got ourselves 'reckonings.' But close enough.

What's crazy is a Clemson grad praised Auburn and Alabama, said I would prefer to go to those colleges than Vanderbilt, but that still got me a whole lot of hate by Auburn people.
It was a perfect example of #SweetTalk that Kirk Heirbstreet solicits about rival teams.

There aren't many teams that would cause me to pull for Auburn. Clemson is one of them.
War damn Eagle. For tonight anyway

Let's do this logically:
1) Clemson grad
2) You
3) The two are completely unrelated
3) Ergo, your point is meaningless. Nobody is making fun of the actual Clemson grad. He or she had a good OP.

Our post defense is really good at entry pass denial into quality positions into the post + forcing TOs on those passed. We then quickly double from the wing as well
So 8d expect Elijah to have a high FG% but on lower usage rate. Also expect more TOs/steals on passes
quote:
Big men are good defensively and average on offense
Well then they are about to block a F ton of shots. Auburn frequently has their layups blocked off drives, even from behind
Auburn doesn't post up very often, so your bigs better be prepared to run all over the floor doe 40 min

Brownell is a good X and Os coach, but we have a tendency to shoot ourselves in the foot. Think it will be a good one!
If Auburn isn't shooting well, I doubt it
AU can either be a top 10 caliber team or bottom 10 caliber team depending on if they are trying to build a brick house

Quoting myself only b/c I Didn’t think we’d actually shite the bed THIS badly. Comical. Yet, typical. I ain’t even mad.
You learn to realize it be what it am as an Auburn fan.
