why run the ball there for any reason other than cuz you think you'll get 10-25 easy yards? Not that I'm against that but is that the point of that play?

what? how did he screw up? He assumed the clock would stop after the first - which it should've. Then you spike the ball and get a shot at the endzone with about 10 seconds left. Even if you take an underneath route you still have a timeout to get the field goal unit out if you get the ball out quickly enough.
The only people who screwed up were the refs. That was grade A bullshite.

and he got it the very next play. clemson had to kick a long field goal instead of getting one more play, but yeah totally the same. both were bad calls, but only one made much of a difference
