There were a lot of folks that were never contacted and some that never should’ve been talked to at all. Overall I think a certain group wanted this hire and made it happen.

I agree with him here. This was the obvious and lazy hire by this AD. Did not see the aggressiveness he is supposedly known for here in this hire
Initial thought is disappointment but I'm gonna sit back with my :kern: and wait and see. I want to see his staff selections.
Particularly interested in his OC pick most of all. UT is going to have a new look, that is for sure. Will the players be bought in though?
Can his staff recruit the South?
Is Steele being retained?
So many questions

I have heard the Kiffen thing mentioned here and there, I dismissed it as a joke.... were there any TN people that literally considered him as an option? I'm can't think any logical reason a TN fan would even consider Kiffen. Travis actually names Kiffen as someone that TN should have reached out to?

Clays dad or uncle (can’t recall exactly) played football with Fulmer. He wants UT to win. He’s been pissed off since Dooley was hired and for good reason. He DID NOT lead the charge against Schiano as that revolt was lead by Local UT media guys followed by local politicians. There were literally local sports reporters with bullhorns in front of the Presidents office voicing their displeasure with the Schiano hire.
According to local UT reporters Kiffin was actively recruiting boosters for the job. The fact that Kiffin was ignored during this coaching search is ridiculous

What's he supposed to do when almost nobody is willing to go to Tennessee?
They torched every single bridge leading into Knoxville with how they have acted since canning Butch. The Schiano debacle, firing the AD while he is negotiating with Leach, having a presser to say there were infractions that will get your HC a show cause to get out of paying his buyout...
Who the frick wants to deal with psycho boosters and fans like that? Even Texas boosters don't try to torch your career by informing to the NCAA or tell people you're a pedo enabler.

There were multiple coaches who were qualified and the fans wanted who reached out to boosters and the new AD completely ignored them and instead interviewed guys who weren’t interested in the job. Apparently the AD wouldn’t even talk to Jimmy Sexton clients. Ludicrous
