Clay needs to remember, beggars can't be choosers.

They absolutely can and its a major reason Tennessee is a dumpster fire right now. Have fun while your boosters keep ramming the program into a ditch while they fight each other for power.

UT has arguably the greatest football mind ever as an alumni (Peyton Manning) and he wasn’t even consulted during the hire

considering he was pushing for Adam Gase, I wouldn't have called him either

It’s the fans fault leadership hired Dooley, Butch, Pruitt and Heupel back to back to back to back. If only we had been sunshine pumping sheep on Twitter.

Pretty sure he was all aboard on Butch/Pruitt/Schiano as well.

There were multiple coaches who were qualified and the fans wanted who reached out to boosters and the new AD completely ignored them and instead interviewed guys who weren’t interested in the job.

I'm hearing that James Franklin was the only one who progressed in the process with UT.

He wanted too much so UT bailed on the talks.

IMO, Heupel was always going to be the guy for White

Who knows. It just pisses me off all Jimmy Sexton clients were ignored. That shrinks the pool by like 90%. You can’t say you went out and got the best guy who you could reasonable get when you ignored 90% of candidates.

Schiano

Schiano wasn’t going to help us anyhow but yes Clay is a jackass. He’s also a Vandy boy who couldn’t get enough of Franklin. He flips according to whim.

This is huge reason VOLS will never get a good to a great HC! You and some of the other VOLS fans don't seem to grasp how good Schiano would have been at Tennessee with the facilities up to standard with any top programs. Also Tennessee seems to have no problem recruiting good to great players no matter who is the HC. On the other hand Rutgers is one of the worst school that have one of the worst facilities and is harder to recruit good to great players. Only reason Greg Schiano took the job was he had success there when Rutgers was in the Big East. This time around he demanded new facilities and better pay for assistants. The President turned him down that request. Later he changed his mind and realized the money Rutgers is getting and will pay off in the future. Greg isn't going to turned Rutgers around over night. Only VOLS fans doesn't understand how much easier to do it at Tennessee than it is at Rutgers. When the new facilities are done being built that is when he will start getting great players.

Blah blah Greg Schiano blah blah. Say it as much as you want but he lasts at UT 4-5 years max. If it was 2005 Schiano, then I could buy it. 2021 Schiano? Nah.

I honestly don't know if you're being serious or not. We're exactly where we'd be if we'd hired Schiano -- coming off a coaching search.

Didn’t he torpedo the previous hire for “bad character” so they hired Pruitt?

Yes he’s serious. As are many. They still think this is 2007 Greg Schiano upsetting Louisville in their biggest moment in school history.

If you'd still be staring down the barrel of major NCAA punishments w/Schiano as HC your program is even more fricked than you know.

I love it

Clay can EAD. He should be vilified by Tennessee fans but they’re too stupid to recognize this.

I don't get the fascination. If we hire Schiano then we're replacing him today. He's about as irrelevant as it gets.
