yea I am almost arguing on who gets to play in the playoff but not the actual winner. No one was going to beat Bama or LSU the last two years. Same can be said for Clemson prior.

I get it. One of our posters said moving to 12 teams would keep a lot of players from opting out of bowl games, too. That's a decent point, too.

I guess I am just at the age where I don't like a whole lot of change. I do understand that once something is changed it rarely goes back to the previous form. Once change starts it continues to change or stops.

I like the system as is, but that is the selfish side of me.

When I played football in high school only one team made the playoffs per region. now I think they send 4.
It was something special for only one to make it. When 4 makes it....crap everybody makes the playoffs.

(In fairness...at one time Georgia had some regions that only had 4 teams in them. I don't know if that has been corrected or not)

No idea what this means and I'm still waiting on that quote from the CFP committee.

It means with tOSU won the Big 10 Championship it separated them from the BU/TCU co-champ debacle. Did you just start following how the committee picks teams? It been discussed extensively since the beginning:

"When circumstances at the margins indicate that teams are comparable, then the following criteria must be considered:
Championships won
Strength of schedule
Head-to-head competition (if it occurred)
Comparative outcomes of common opponents (without incenting margin of victory)"

I do think it would be cool for home games during the playoffs, but playoffs some years will be watered down for sure.

guess beating two team 6-3 is an elite schedule.

Don't be a idiot.I never stated this.Just comparing against other top 10 teams and their quality wins and schedules.

My point is the media has picked apart every team in the top 10 outside of UGA, Cincy, and ND in regards to their schedule

When did this happen and which "media" are you referring to?
Sorry,I hear Cincinnati's schedule
picked apart continually.

EVERYONE's schedule needs to be looked at along with quality wins including Bama and UGA.

I usually only listen to ESPN radio for college football on XM so that is what 4 or 5 shows a day plus all their guest media people that come on there. So maybe not a good sample size but it seems like it is a national campaign by those guys to push not fair for Cincy narrative. They complain about the double standards for some schools but yet to seem to overlook the one they are creating for Cincy. Even today one of the shows was going on about ND and how they should be ranked much higher.

And? WTF does this have to do with
the current discussion about OSU and OU?

Do ya not realize both play in a conference championship game and OSU obviously plays a tougher SOS in its remaining games?

Please explain who the two situations are remotely similar or
relevant?

Championships won

And my scenario has both team winning the conference championships.

The committee has been very consistent the past 7 years in only considering the games that have already been played, exactly as they're told to do. They're not supposed to consider games that haven't been played yet.

I don't think it's gotten through to some people that this is the way it works. Some people are still stuck on the poll model where someone usually has to lose to move down this late in the season.

That's why a team with a backloaded schedule can leapfrog a lot of teams in a hurry at the end of the year, regardless of whether those teams being leapt lose or not. It's really not that complicated.

Also, the committee only considers rankings from the previous week, not when the games were played. So to say Bama was beaten by an unranked A&M, while true at the time, is not how the committee looks at it. In the next vote, they will see it as #11 A&M winning that game. And it's why OU will get zero extra credit for beating a ranked Texas at the time.

That's the way it should be. We all know Texas sucks now, and we now know that A&M is pretty good.

It's all fairly predictable if people would just looks at the rules the committee has to follow. Once all the games have been played after conference championships and all the data is in, they've always done a pretty solid job of getting the correct 4 teams in.

I see you’re too dim to follow along quotes posts. I’ll try to walk you through it like you’re five. A poster explained for seven years the committee has said it considers conference championships when they are won. You twice asked for a source to support. Since you apparently don’t have Google in whatever backwater shithole in which you live I provided you with the committee’s criteria and further explained your ignorant question you had about the other poster explaining tOSU jumping up in a past year after winning the conference championship.

One more tip because it seems to happen to you frequently. If you have to keep posting “what’s that mean” in a response to posts, you’re probably not quite bright enough to follow along a football message board thread. Maybe get a five year old to help you read and post.

Wow! Check out the angry little elf.It hurts a bit this morning little man, doesn't it?

Anyway, completely irrelevant this morning isn't it?

Not like you guys deserved it anyway.
