Wade is not on trial, but the entire premise of the indictment against Gatto and Dawkins is that they committed fraud against the schools involved based on players being rendered ineligible because of violation of relevant NCAA rules. The basics are spelled out in paragraph 3 and 4 of the linked indictment, with more detail about relevant rules violation around paragraph 21.

"I gotta give Colin Sexton's daddy 20 grand... old flags for the upcoming 9/11 memorial he's putting together. But seriously, I need to give his pops 20 stacks... of pancakes for the prayer brunch at our church. I also have to give him 20 G's... for our weekly scrabble tourney. Additionally, I have to get him that 20K... sign for the big marathon he's organizing. But I need to pass along the 20 large... print Bibles for the retirement home ministry he coordinates.
Oh, and I also need to pay him $20,000 for the specific purpose of influencing his son to sign with my agency."
