I automatically assume I’m dealing with an extremely dumb and easily influenced person. How about you?

Seems pretty smart to me, I always research things that are important to me. I would never take on face value anything on social media, news outlets, podcasts, etc. A good example is the comments on this board about the “Inflation reduction bill” The bill is stupid, just more wasted taxpayer money. However, it is pretty obvious that none of the people posting about the bill have actually read it. So I would tell someone making erroneous comments about what the bill is going to do or not, to do some research, read the bill for yourself.

Close friend of mine died last year at 87. He had his iPhone, iPad completely figured out. Knew all about 5G.

People have some weird perspective on technology vs age, I don’t know anyone in their 80s that doesn’t have a smartphone and some type of pad or PC. I’m 67and have had a cell phone for 30 years and got my first home computer 40 years ago because my father in law got one, he would be 92 if he was still alive.

Diamonds are not rare. Companies keep them locked away and only release 1/20th of them to keep supply down. So glad my wife hates jewelry. Diamonds are a waste of money.

At one time DeBeers was spending a couple hundred million a year on ad campaigns designed to convince women that if the guy didn’t spend x times salary for a diamond they don’t love you, and thatvs used/preowned diamond was basically worthless.

In theory they would be faster and you wouldn't need to pit for gas.

Why would they not need to pit? To achieve the speeds needed to be competitive takes a certain amount of stored energy determined by the weight and aerodynamics of the race car. We are a long way from batteries that have the energy density per weight equal to a fossil fuel.

This makes no sense, all accidents are caused by negligence in some form.

Yeah, I probably had 2 1/2 hours total invested in a private sell. From taking pics, posting adds, returning a dozen or so text and meeting the buyer. So, you really better value your time if an hour 45 is worth a couple of thousand. Close to $20 a minute. YMMV.

Besides my time, it is worth a certain amount of money to avoid dealing with strangers, and handling sizable amounts of money. Sellers have been burned with fake cashiers checks, had the vehicle stolen at gun point, and the most common, the buyer claims the vehicle has a issue and wants their money back even though it was in writing that it was sold as-is.

He was charged with manslaughter, but the charges were dropped, he never went to trial.

I FEEL SO MUCH SAFER WITH 80,000 IRS AGENTS WITH GUNS.

People should read the bill, and quit believing social media posts. The IRS Criminal Investigation division has 2000 agents who are armed. They serve criminal warrants, just like treasury agents. They have existed as long as the IRS. The Inflation bill provides funding for hiring 300 additional agents over the next 10 years. The funding for 87,000 agents also over 10 years is to bring the agency back to their normal staff level which had declined dramatically, and to replace personal lost through attrition.
Even though the reveal thing is pretty dumb, if they are doing it why would the forth child be less significant than the first. ? Maybe they have 3 girls, and this one is a boy, or vice versa , that would be a bid deal for most families.

Sure, the stupid ones, as has been posted, the time difference between crossing at 60mph vs 80mph is about 4 1/2 minutes, anyone can spare 3 or 4 minutes to drive just drive the speed limit.

I played alto sax in Jr High, and part of High SChool. I was a good sized kid, 2nd year of high school they talked me into playing football. Carrying that thing back and forth everyday was a pain. The case was big enough that it was always in the way in a car, or the bus,and heavy enough that you got tried of carrying it pretty fast. At the time I wished I played trumpet, flute, or clarinet, something in a small case.

Can’t blame some of them, the advances in information technology that were supposed to make the workplace more efficient just created more things that could be done. More ways to measure, analyze, rack, and stack, requiring more reports to generate, producing more emails questioning the report, and on and own. People spending all their working lives lives producing nothing of value.
24.4 6'3" 195lbs just barely in the "health weight " range which I believe because I would really like to lose around 10 pounds.

Girls were REALLY Girls -- freely embracing their femininity

Absolutely ZERO politics infesting ANY sports or corporations. BUT TBH, the Academe was already plotting and planning by then

There was no squawking about "racism" ; that situation was acknowledged by consensus as improving all the time.

You either were not alive, too young to care, or not paying attention in the 1960s and 70s

It was the most militant time politically and socially, violent protests, Kent State shootings, Weather Underground Bombings, The Black Panthers, Students for a Democratic society.

Politics dominated conversation, we had the Vietnam war, the Cold War, college protests, The Pentagon papers, watergate. The 60s and early 70s on college campuses were a hotbed of olitical activity, along with every dinner table in America.

Passive segregation was everywhere, there were almost zero mixed race social organization, it was a huge deal if someone just had a room mate of another race, a mixed race couple was as rare as a a unicorn.

No one under 30 trusted the government, “ always question authority “ was a common slogan.

Feminism was in the news every day, bra burning, girls quit wearing makeup, they demanded equality with men, and started to act like men, it was the beginning of the end of girls wanting to be girls.

Black athletes giving the fist in the air black power salute while receiving their medals at the Olympics. Walkouts in protest of racism was common among college teams all over the US.

Racism was in the news daily, as said before passive segregation was everywhere, school integration created white flight to the suburbs. Neighborhoods were clearly white or not. Redlining by realtors, and banks helped keep it that way, If you were black you couldn’t get a mortgage for a house in a white neighborhood. This went on well into the 70s, probably the 80s. Job applications by minority applicants often went into the trash without further review.

To make a realistic comparison would rework knowing much of the DNC money is actually spent on the campaign vs how much is stolen for personal use.
