Landry is a LSU grad, coached at LSU and is friendly with the aTm AD from their shared background in the LSU athletic department.

Some LSU fans don't like Landry because he doesn't pull any punches when it comes to his opinion on the program.

A top coach can win anywhere. Look at TCU. They were garbage for years and Patterson turned them around. UW was a cellar dweller for a decade and Peterson turned them into a power. We all made fun of Clemson for Clemsoning. Now Dabo redefines what Clemsoning is.

Now having the facilities, fan base, and fertile recruiting just make it easier (less building, more winning).

The right coach made Baylor win big. Baylor. It can happen anywhere, and believing otherwise is like believing in ghost stories.

BIG melt incoming on Tiger Rant.

Only if Saban is hired by Texas A&M. The only melt I have ever seen from LSU fans over coaching hires was when Bama hired him.

You mean the disturbed evil orphan who recruited Houston gang-bangers with rap sheets and turned a blind eye to them running trains on co-eds who didn't consent as long as they won some games? "The right coach"

Would this cause LSU fans to melt?

Didn't they want Jimbo?

Pretty sure Jimbo wanted 5 years at 8 million a year and LSU didnt want to give that to him.

Moments like these make me thankful for lsu fans

We think the same of a7m fans. You popped off like this when you got Sumlin. Again when you got Chief. Again when you got Mazzone. What do think will change with a new coach? It's your babyshit soft as players. Your history and culture says you're just a nice payday.

Why would Jimbo leave FSU for TAMU? He’s won a Natty and has to compete against only two other teams in all of the ACC. Not to mention he’s getting paid a ton of money. Now he wants to head to a team that has to play 3 top programs every year just to win the division?

College Station > Tallahassee (which is a sewer)
A&M money >>> FSU money

FSU fants have tried to come out of the stands and fight him this year.

FSU is an ugly, plain, ugly, ugly campus. You can't even tell you're on a campus when you're there.

State of FL recruiting is really hard. UF just got a guy that will walk in with TWO rings from his time at UF, along with two SEC rings - he averaged a ring per year for his time at UF; and Fisher has one natty at FSU despite being there for about a decade now in total. Fisher is a good recruiter and Texas is loaded with talent. All he'd have to do is complete with TCU for talent there, as of now. And he would raid the state of LA relentlessly. He would also most likely dominate Scott Frost and prevent him from taking TX talent to Nebraska (or whoever coaches Nebraska next).

A&M is the sleeping giant of the SEC. It used to be UF but Spurrier woke that giant up in 1990. Fisher could create a dynasty there. Literally overnight A&M could commit twice as much money to football as Bama. Easily.

A&M is much too weird to ever be a sleeping giant.

Over-inflated opinion, IMO

All these LSU fans need to write letters to Jimbo to inform him why A&M is not a good job. He would listen then

Yeah Tom Herman will just lay back and let that happen.

I wonder who would FSU target if Jimbo were to leave since most of the best options will already be off the board. Taggart?
