I used to always cheer for the SEC no matter what. Not any more.

Bama ..... not even if they were playing against ISIS, the Taliban, or hell's minions with Satan at QB.

Never.

We did that the first time every SEC team cashed a SEC Network check.

I have 3 set rules:

I always pull for UGA of course.

I always pull against UF.

I always pull against ND, except if they are playing UF.

SC is the only SEC team I root against during the bowl season. I live in Columbia and when they are winning (which is rare) its unimaginable.

It seems like the general cfb boards out there on the internet are always talking about how pathetic it is to root for your conference (specifically talking about sec fans) all while they constantly root against the SEC. I have never understood why it is super uncool to cheer for a conference but cool to root against them as the latter comes off a lot more pathetic, imo.

I never rooted for or against conference opponents playing other games, even when I considered my conference good. I’ll occasionally watch them playing teams other than mine to see how they match up or what to expect when we play them. No 2nd favorite team where I come from.

Well, I'll tell you what's even more pathetic; when schools like USCe and MSSt ride the coattails of the conference.
I don't care if USCe wins a bunch of games, and I don't even actively root against them (although the Citadel game was fantastic), but I get a kick out of some of y'all acting like the SEC is amazing - which it is - while doing nothing but stealing the money Bama, LSU, etc bring in. Most of the SEC is like a bunch of rats, scurrying out to pick up the scraps left by the big dogs.

When we were in the Big 12 i always wanted Texas, Baylor, OU, OSU, and Texas Tech to lose every single game. Didnt care about the north. I guess I rooted for them because it made the conference stronger.

I don't feel the same hatred towards SEC teams that I felt growing up towards Big 12 teams. I hate LSU, but it's nothing compared to the hate towards the former Big 12 South.

I want the SEC to go 9-0

Kinda like being a fan of an ACC school, and constantly posting on an SEC board because the most popular ACC site only gets 2-3 hits a day

I'm pulling for Clemson and Oklahoma

Sorry dude, I'm petty.

I'll never really pull for Alabama, but I could see myself one day pulling for UGA against someone like Clemson. But for your first title since 1980? Nah man, nah.

In the above just exchange UGA for Bama and UF for AU and I agree 100%.

I hope LSU beats Notre Dame. Because of your point. Its a big SEC program vs a huge college football brand in ND. I hope LSU beats that catholic Irish arse.

I don't give a rats arse if state wins or loses. If they win, good for the SEC. If they lose, good, frick 'em who cares.

I look forward to LSU winning by a TD or more and then claiming a transitive win over UGA next year prior to our matchup.
