Man, Heupel either needs to hire someone to run background checks on guys they drop big bags for or he's a total moron.
Midwest schools like Ohio State and ND were viewed as the front-runners when Coleman planned to enter the portal, but apparently they dropped out after they did some digging into Coleman. Tennessee ignored that or was completely unaware that he had character/attitude concerns, and they whored themselves out for him.
It's not the first time they've made this mistake, either. A few years ago they were desperate for a QB out of HS that had a lot of potential and they whored themselves out for Nico. Then they acted surprised that he would leave after the 2024 season even though his camp made it crystal clear from his recruitment that they only cared about money. A lot of people knew that he wouldn't finish at Tennessee when they signed him because of that, but apparently Tennessee didn't.

Kiffin has really emphasized how much the staff is looking to the character of the player. You have to wonder if missing on those guys was by design or by luck or a little of both.

I completely agree. So frustrating to interact with TN sunshine pumping fans who won't blame Heupel for this. 3rd starter in 14 months, we have had to part ways with because Heupel doesn't know who he is dealing with

UT is over promising on the front end .... They overlook the fleas, that is why they keep having problems with these frickers .... I will give them hell about a lot but not this ... Good for them for telling these prima donas to f off..

It is interesting how we overlook these retards obvious issues on the front end, but Heupel adopts the "we don't negotiate with terrorists" attitude on the backend. He has no issue with telling these "players" to fuuck off when they get difficult, which seems increasingly more common

He got one month of payment for 25K per UT local reports. They stopped paying him as soon as he stopped reporting to Spring Camp. He hasn't shown up in months, aside from a few workouts in the summer.
The original issue was "homesickness," so they had one of his siblings move to Knoxville to live with him. Then people said he had lingering vertigo from a concussion last fall. This has been predicted since April

I mean he definitely had his highly ranked but non-competing flameouts. Michael Trigg, Flash Robinson, Zakhari Franklin, Chris Marshall off the top of my head. Marshall got a bag and didn't even make it to the summer.
