I'd actually take Robb Smith. Imagine what he could do with talent at a program like LSU or Bama.

I'm not going to lie - this worried me. He took our #76 Defense to #10 in 1 year. I'm not bagging on our talent, but seriously - could you imagine what he could do at a school that was stacked?

To top it off - I think we were paying him something like $500k a year. So, yeah, I was a little concerned LSU might reach out to him and put together a pretty deadly Defense

TL;DR
Blah blah blah, Bert is fat. Only 2 wins in 2 years blah blah blah.

What about the DC that's produced the best defense in the SEC for six of the last eight years?

Who said anybody was judging Muschamp entirely by what he did at Florida? Auburn's defense was 6th and 7th nationally in scoring defense the first time Muschamp was our defensive coordinator.

It is also comical that you are trashing Muschamp so much when you have replaced him with a coach from Colorado State and a no name group of assistant coaches outside of Randy Shannon. Seems to me that you should probably get over Muschamp and worry about our own shite coaching staff

Actually McElwain is a great hire and his staff is very solid. But that's none of my business.

Robb Smith... no contest.

We would have hired Muschamp if we'd wanted him. Chavis was once great, but he be gettin old.

True

Can't wait to see what he does with our defense once we improve our talent more

Defense wasn't the problem.

When was the last time it was at Florida?

EDiT: Aside from you know, giving up 650+ yards to Bama this year?

That one time we lost to an FCS with no passing threat.

That other time an FCS almost beat us and rushed for 200+ yards on our defense.

What about that Sugar Bowl where Louisville carved our defense up for dinner?

Seriously, I'm happy Auburn got Muschamp. Take three years throwing money at an expensive coach with little change on defense.

I only have one downvote to give, and you're getting it.

Huh?... a lack of defense kept spurrier from winning another two or three NCs... UF has always been know for it's offense, at least for the last 25 years anyway.

What are you, 12?

Are you completely oblivious to what Meyer's defenses were ranked before Muschamp arrived?

Charlie Strong didn't get a reputation for nothing.

Muschamp, Chavis then Smith, though Smith has the chance to pass both of them if he has continued success.

Yes, nick Saban is the best defensive coach in college football. His coordinators are his puppets.
