as boring as B1G football

The best conference in the country is boring now?

So you are upset that sec fans on an sec board are big on the sec?

No it's that they can't see reason after 3 years of hard data in front of their faces. B1G fans acknowledged the strength of the SEC over the last 20 years, but SEC fans refuse to acknowledge that another conference is better, even though the results clearly show it to be true

Why are you even here?

I've been on this website since before OSU/LSU in 2007, so I certainly have had my fair number of friendly arguments in the SECr

I'm glad you were able to change the rules enough times that it's finally worked out for you guys.

Which new rules favor the big ten over the sec?

The SEC dominated the BCS, so you lobbied to change it to a 4-team playoff, and a Big Ten team won.

Then the SEC dominated the 4-team playoff, so you lobbied to pay players and change it to a 12-team format, and the Big Ten has won three.

The Big Ten had one natty in 20 years prior to NIL, a 12-team playoff format, and automatic (participation trophy) qualifiers.

Your regular season schedules are pathetic, and playing garbage competition lets you slide right to the post season with the best players money can buy, in a favorable bracket slot.

It's not that difficult to understand.

The ones that don’t let Alabama pay players under the table while simultaneously snitching on rival schools doing the same thing. It’s so crazy that now all schools are able to legally do what they have done for decades that their program has fallen into the trash bin

How much validation do you need to fill the emptiness within your soul?

Look man, I'm sorry your dad kept referring to you as "the other one" when growing up, but this isn't the place to figure it out, okay? I'm sure there are a lot of therapists in Ohio.

And, you know, I'm glad you guys get to be good in football. It must truly serve as a balm to soothe over the pain of having to live in Ohio.

Quick, let's make shite up with no proof to make us feel better for years of past mediocrity!

Dude I was an athlete at OSU and didn’t live in Ohio before or after college.

But a Bama fan talking about Ohio is rich

Ohio has more money, that's true.
It's also hideous.

I cannot fathom how depressing it must be to know that the scenic beauty of West Virginia or the mountains of Kentucky are so, SO close... but instead if I from Ohio I get to brag about Cleveland or Cincinnati

But it's okay... if Ohio didn't have the Great Lakes, they'd be Iowa Jr. So kudos on your founders for that bit of foresight at least!

No I understand, I'm just not sure why any of this is a plus for the sec. If last years playoff field for example, with 5 sec teams and 3 big ten teams, is an advantageous field for the big ten as you claim, is that not a tacit admission that the big ten is the stronger conference?

Game is in early September. Field temperature in Austin could be around 120°F. afternoon or early evening. Hee Hee Hee

I don't understand what these SEC fans are chirping about. The Ohio State Buckeyes basically own the SEC. And we always play a tougher schedule than anyone else.

As noted, a weaker regular-season schedule means you're healthier and more rested going into the playoffs.

Having to play 16 games does not favor the conference with the most attrition, it favors the least.

For example, Alabama's starting QB was limited last year during the post season, and Georgia's has been for two years in a row.

But hey, you guys figured out how to keep us from winning the 15th out of 19. Congrats.

I’ve lived my entire life in the south and have family and friends who are SEC through and through so I understand the mindset. The problem is they simply can’t fathom a college football sport where they are second fiddle. It truly is embarrassing these days to listen to SEC fans as a whole. They simply pretend the past 3 years didn’t happen and that high end players aren’t leaving their conference.

And it’s funny because it’s all because their coaches who they worship like gods lied to them all along and made them actually believe that players went to their school for any reason other than money. Now, that everyone pays they simply can’t understand that their success was all due to money and not because of “Tuscaloosa” or “wanting to wear the red and black”. It’s always been about who could buy the best players - the SEC use to be the top buyers, but now the BIG and other teams are taking over.

I was on a division 1 scholarship to Ohio State, one of the best athletic programs in the country. I don't know how in any way you can minimize that but good work you root for a school you may not even have attended

Sorry, I was busy getting my triple Masters degrees in Getting Laid, Ninjitsu, and Awesomeness. I wasn't even attending Ohio State but they kept calling asking me to let them use my name to replace "Buckeyes" as the program name, but I said no.

Dude, you're on an anonymous message board. No one is going to be impressed with your unverifiable claims of relevance.

Its just crazy coming into threads like this, and people are still stuck in 2010. Look at the draft tomorrow and see how many big ten players go in the first round compared to the sec.

Over the past five years (2021–2025), the SEC had 270 NFL draft picks, while the Big Ten had 169

Please STFU already
