Didn't DeBoer beat and finish better than Sark each of the past two seasons?
Having said that, I wouldn't argue with Sark being ranked under DeBoer. We stopped worshipping coaches at Texas when DKR passed away about 14 years ago

Elko and Sark are too high. Kiffin is too low. Kelly should probably be 4th, maybe 5th. There’s a reason why Notre Dame fans weren’t that upset with him leaving.

head coaches who have never coached an SEC game shouldn't even be ranked, in my opinion.

There was hot seat talk surrounding Drinkwitz this time last year.
They wanted to dump him and cook their qb and now they’re ready to build statues of them….haha.

damn, thats a whole lot of grossly overpaid mediocrity

Who would you rank ahead of him, besides Smart and possibly DeBoer?

Kelly? Number 2? At least let him win a major bowl game in his career. He couldn't win shite with a Heisman QB at the helm and a roster full of NFL talent.
CBS ranked him that high based off his dancing skills in platform shoes.

You forgot what LSU looked like in 2020 / 2021.
BK took a team with 36 scholarship players and back to back 6-6 seasons. He made the SECCG his first year, (something some schools still haven’t done in their history) had two 10 win seasons, beat Alabama (should have twice), had his recruit win the Heisman and is about to have back to back top 5 recruiting classes. Did I mention he’s the winningest active coach?
Yeah, he’s better than your coach.

Look at Ole Miss' schedule last year vs. Mizzou's. We played Georgia much better, but they beat LSU when we wilted in the 4th quarter.
I also think Ole Miss talent and schedule this year puts them on a slightly better path to make the playoffs, if I understand power rankings correctly.
Both teams are contenders to make the playoffs, and it should be a fun year.

My viewpoint:
Kirby at #1 because he has a NCAA title
.
Kelly at #2 I can accept because he's the only one on the list to take a team to the SEC title game (though he lost). He's also coached in and lost a NCAA title game (BCS era)
Deboer should be #3 and Sark #4... simply because Deboer beat Sark in the first playoff appearance for both coaches. Both have won other P5 conference titles.
After that it doesn't matter. None of them actually have won something definitive or even made it to a championship game of some kind. I don't care about Kiffin's G5 conference titles. Same goes for Napier or Drink or Heupel or Freeze and their sunbelt glories.

Rankings and tiers. I think a good argument could be made to rank them differently in each tier.
Tier 1
1. Smart- He's on a trajectory that would put him top 5 all-time nationally.
Tier 2
2. Kelly- has accomplished the most at the P5 level.
3. DeBoer- Won at a an all-time level wherever he's been. Was even better than Kellly at the extremely lower college levels. Took a team with a more difficult path to a playoff.
4. Sark- He's gotten to the playoff and has Texas poised for more success in the future. But it's kind of hard to argue he's better than DeBoer when he lost to him last year with a much better roster.
tier 3
5. Kiffin- He was probably too young to be given HCing duties early in his career. But appears to have grown and knows how to handle the job completely now. Ole Miss is solid if not great.
6. Heupel- He wins everywhere he goes. I doubt he can elevate them to the consistent top five to top ten team Fulmer had them at for a decade, but he will consistently win with some playoff years at times.
7 Freeze- Again, he wins. Where has he not. Not sure why he's so far down on this list.
Tier 4
8. Venables- Ten win season last year with a victory over a playoff team. The teams he lost to were at least decent. Two really close games in the regular season and could've been undefeated if they win those. Transition year in his first year. I don't count that one against him.
9. Elko- He's had two good seasons in a place that's tough to win. The coaches that have won there also did pretty well in the SEC when they got the chance.
10. Stoops- He's winning at a place that was very up and down for years. Just doesn't look like he can elevate them beyond very good though.
11. Eli- Unit last year, he'd gone three seasons without breaking .500. I like the guy, but want to see if he can have a decent follow up to last year.
Tier 5
12. Beamer- I'm putting him first because think he's had the best season so far at his current school. But his path so far looks like Pittman's. He needs a good year in his fourth year and need so avoid what happened to Pittboss last year.
13. Pittman- After the first two seasons of hope, it's been downhill. Maybe Petrino can breathe new life into the offense.
Tier 6
14. Napier- I considered having him in tier 5, but I just couldn't. Two losing seasons so far. The others have at least tasted success. I know some UF fans think the admin is tying his hands and not allowing him to do things the way Meyer and Spurrier did. But he needs to recruit better for his plan to work.
Tier 7
15. Lea- Some were thinking Vandy could get 6 wins last year and make it to a bowl, but when I looked at how they won their games in 2022, it didn't look promising. Needed a lot of luck as they won those games in 2022 largely due to taking advantage of poor play by their opponents.
Tier 8
16. Lebby- He's never been a head coach.
Tier 1
1. Smart- He's on a trajectory that would put him top 5 all-time nationally.
Tier 2
2. Kelly- has accomplished the most at the P5 level.

BS - what does CBS know about the SEC? That's a Big10 network.
