Insanity is thinking any player in the league thinks this game means anything compared to the life of a fellow player.
Players on every team are routinely cut/traded/leave for more money or a better opportunity. Enough with this “brotherhood” bullshite.

You do realize there is a difference between being traded and dying? It doesn’t seem like you do.

Again, it’s not a brotherhood. The Bills are coworkers, and players on other teams are something akin to very distant coworkers in another part of a wide enterprise. The ramifications of canceling this game outweigh the objectivity sad circumstances surrounding the hospitalization of one player.

We will see what happens.

I can't see what those negative circumstances are for each team.
Again, the only upside to playing that game, and winning it, was moving over Buffalo from a three seed to a two. The downside was losing it, then losing to Baltimore, and losing the division. There's no way Cincy want's to meet up tomorrow to play this one out ... then play again on Sunday. No chance.
Buffalo is in about the same boat. If they won this game, won this weekend, and KC gave a game away to the Raiders ... they move from a two to a one. Lose to Cincy and lose this weekend and they backup to a three. They'll pass on that noise.
Won't be surprised when both teams agree to just mail it in this weekend and get ready for the playoffs.

I 100% get what you’re saying, but doesn’t Baltimore want a chance to win their division? The game doesn’t exist in a vacuum, so even if the Bills are cool with conceding their shot at the #1 seed the failure to complete this game shuffles the playoff matchups.

Probably. But Baltimore won't have a say in this, would be my suspicion. The only parties with a seat at this particular table will be Buffalo, Cincy, and the league office. None of the three have much reason to play it out.
I'll be shocked if this game gets finished between now and Sunday. And I'll bet the house it won't be rescheduled next week.

The only reason for Buffalo to play is to hope to win it, then win on Sunday - and hope for a Chiefs loss against the Raiders. Or else, they just say screw it and take the two seed. They'll take the two seed, rest their starters this weekend, and get ready for the playoffs. Maybe play them long enough to lock up the two - if Cincy doesn't rest their players.
This is incorrect, before this weeks games, KC and Buffalo were both 12-3, Buffalo beat KC and owns the tie breaker. By not playing this game they THEN have to hope KC loses. But if this game was played and Buffalo won, both teams would be 13-3 and Buffalo owns the tiebreaker. I have a feeling Buffalo could basically say screw it, we have the most to lose and we don't want to play it.

So the Bills had to beat Cincy, then keep pace with the Chiefs on Sunday ?
I'll stick with my position. Buffalo will shut it down. Might even shut it down this weekend, if Cincy agrees to do the same. This game will not get finished.

Well. During the year how many fans in the stands have had coronaries and died? No mention anywhere about those folks. The game goes on. What is the difference in their value to the players on the field?

Playing sports on a high level or being in a band or working in a bar or running your own small business etc etc is 100% a brotherhood.
These people are professionals. These people are also people. There is no way you watched the game live.
Dudes watched a guy they spend probably every other day with receive CPR. Visibly traumatized. Have you ever witnessed CPR in person? What about CPR on someone you knew?
Also, chances are there are not many cardiac events happening with young men in the stands annually. Cardiac arrest is common, but it’s not THAT common.
Acting like people drop dead every time you go pick up groceries. I don’t engage people seriously on this board often, but you are an actual sociopath.

I think it should be completely up to the Bills. If they don’t want to play the game or next week’s either, that decision should be honored with no questions asked or penalties assessed. If it hurts the Bengals’ seeding, who gives a shite (and I’m a Cincy fan). There are bigger things in life than football.

Yes

I say cancel it but if the teams were to meet in the playoffs it should happen on a neutral field.

Just read a short piece where a Dr said that there was a good chance he would make it but the rehab would take months and with that he may be through with football.
