Why didn't he leave?

Very unusual for a high quality RB to return his senior season.

Harris' 2 games with the most carries last season happened to come in Mac Jones' 2 starts against the teams with a pulse.

The ironic part about that is Mac also threw for 300+ in each of those games (Auburn and Michigan). The argument will be that he won't have Jeudy and Ruggs to throw to, but Smith and Waddle aren't slouches. Will be interesting to see if the output can stay like those two games.

Not sure if OP is even old enough to remember the Great Wall of Florida in 1984.

He could be, but we haven't seen enough to expect it.

Harris is poised for an enormous season with a solid O-Line and Defense and inexperience at the QB position. He's the smart money until proven otherwise.

Mandatory for those not smart enough to come up with something on their own.

Did he tear that same knee in high school? Or am I thinking or someone else

No, he tore one in high school and then tore the other one at UGA. He looked pretty good in the playing time he got last year. I'm hoping that year 2 gets him close to where he could have been.

From what I've heard, he's interested in improving his receiving from the backfield in Leach's offense. He has a Kamara-like skill set, so there is at least some logic behind his decision.

Unless he drastically improves his draft status there's never any reason for great RB's to come back for another season IMO.

I don't know if the 3rd/4th best OL in the SEC is worthy of a nickname...

The number 2 back of that class had an MCL issue as well(Lingard). Will be interesting to see how both do this year.

How do you define SEC’s Best back? Most yards & TDs? importance to team? Both?

Passing? Yards per Catch? Yards aft catch?

I’m reading lotsa quick poorly though out replies to your thread just shaking my head when you anoint Harris

Very poor job guys — Pokey here to tighten your asses up! You Gumps can suck on this when it happens — Mark this well

Kentucky WR lead SEC in rushing in 2019 - Wake the fk up

Clyde was #2 (3-star) smoking Najee Harris’ 5-star arse and punking Travis Etienne in the Title Game! Both Harris and Etienne couldn’t go pro because they wouldn’t have sniffed the Top 5 RB spots!

That bitch slap settled with fact and link we move on to TRUTH

LSU:
John Emery #1 2019 recruit played legally blind in one eye until his surgery January after the Championship! Breakout year coming 2020! Shares a load at LSU with two other capable backs! Everyone eats!

His 10 yards per catch while legally blind in one eye CANNOT be underestimated

I am picking John Emery to lead all SEC backs in receiving categories

If Tyrion Price Davis and Chris Curry were not so good, the title would be a walk in the park for John Emery the same way that Clyde smoked everyone’s RB arses!

Again the comedy of a WR taking a rushing title at Kentucky does not escape Ole Pokey
Orgeron does not run his backs to death and fresh legs will carry LSU to another SEC title in 2020.

Zamir White #1 2018 RB Recruit had a tough break. He’s back looking to get comfortable and back in groove. Super solid OL where a Passing game will be the new focus along with hurry up Offense as Kirby tries to catch Joe Burrow in a bottle w/Jamie Newton. With more throwing 50/50 pass/run and far less rushes, Zamir could get plenty of explosive plays as teams adjust to a NEW GEORGIA OFFENSE SIMILAR TO LSU SAINTS model
Also expect 75 plays per game from Georgia as it makes its way out of the NCAA cellar.

So with 10 more plays per game Georgia will have almost the same amount of rushes per game and I like Zamir to give Harris a run in 2020 for the rushing title. It’s gonna be a good race and who knows, especially with Saban’s maniacal habits (like Tuna) pushing players to limits, an injury could end it and settle who wins it.

Alabama:
2017 # 1 RB recruit Najee Harris should win the rushing title nipping Zamir (within 1 game production) if both stay healthy and play to their capabilities.

Comment:
If John Emery is forced into a premier role (not likely) then he smokes Harris’@$$ the way Clyde did last year. I want to see three backs at LSU and spreading it out so that everyone stays healthy.

Others that could challenge for the rushing title:

A) Boyd (Arkansas) ... New coach
B) Spiller (TAMU) ... easy schedule
Long shot: Plumlee stealing his yards lol
C) Ealy (Ole Miss) ... New coach

Best All Purpose Back in 2020
John Emery (LSU)

How can you deny the fact that we have a great wall? In seven tries from the 1 yard line against 2018 Florida none of our RBs could penetrate it.

Maybe Kirby will learn that the Oline should transform from a wall to a wide open door on running plays.

Nope. He will not be near the top in yards or carries.
A ) Newman’s running will cut into any carries
B ) the Great Wall of Georgia has 1.5 starters and lacks the players for Luke’s system
C ) Ds will stack the box to stop the run. Newman isn’t much of a passing threat against an average D and UGA has 1 WR that is healthy and talented*

*I do except Monken to change this. He is a well respected journeyman WR coach.

And UGA will still beat UT by 3-4 tds. You don't recruit 1-2 every year and have any sort of talent deficiency.

Newman, who knows, but he has light years better players around him now and Mathis is apparently giving him a run for his moneyml.
