Why would a comparison of Kentucky Football and Georgia Basketball start with when Kentucky hired their...........basketball coach?

Did you even read the OP? Joker Phillips and Mark Stoops were paid by Calipari to be boring as possible so the athletic department would transfer even more funds to the basketball team.
Unfortunately for Cal, Joker was boring, but not good enough to keep his job. Since then Cal hired Stoops to be as boring as possible while winning enough games to keep his job.

At the end of the day, most everybody here just got their affiliation assigned. You were born in South Carolina. Or your dad watched Ole Miss. Something or something else. My curse was seeing the Power K on a helmet under Jerry Claiborne. They beat Indiana to go 3-0. Watched in on a big TV in the basement of my grandparents. That's where we lived at the time. Even less than a trailer.
I know part of this website - a big part - is just goofy fricking talk. And that can be fun. But the other part - the part where certain fans really get a thrill up their leg because they wear a certain brand of gear and vicariously identify with what goes on in any given Saturday - chaps my arse. Because nobody here is winning or losing a damn thing. Just watching - on better screens. And getting older.
The "poors" are getting tired of this shite. We can't change it. But I see more of us just walking away from it.

I was alive when Georgia got beat by Penn State for a title in '83 - we had just got cable. That picture was crystal clear. You could see those white helmets tackle Herschel with crazy definition. No snow at all on the screen.
Of course - you couldn't see Sandusky diddling little boys in the locker room, but I don't think that was a failing of the video signal at the time. Now - the Penn State fans refusing to see it for a couple decades ? I dunno' ? Maybe they were all just "Touched".
